Euro LBP Beta Invites Go Out Today?

The ever-expanding mania surrounding the LittleBigPlanet beta - which starts next week, by the way - has been assaulting the Internet from all angles. Unfortunately, we still have no official information for would-be North American testers.

We have, however, heard a great deal about European beta invites. Yesterday, Eurogamer decided to hand out 5,800 beta codes, which instantly sparked a stampede of eager LBP fans. Before the day was out, every last one of those codes was gone, although that's only a little more than a quarter of the total invites the European region is supposed to receive. Each region (Japan, Europe, and North America) is going to get about 20,000 invites apiece, according to recent news evidence. And today, it seems the rest of those European invites have been sent out, as Euro users all over the 'Net have been advising fellow gamers to check their inboxes...good news might be in there! This isn't too shocking, as Europe was the first testing ground for PlayStation Home, but we assume this beta testing will take place simultaneously around the world, so where the heck are the invites for the U.S.? Will they go out today, too?  Media Molecule has said the beta key distribution is "entirely in Sony's hands," so...

We'll have to wait and see, but if everyone wants to be ready for the 29th, they had best send out all the invites to all the regions this week. Remember, Media Molecule and Sony have said they want everyone around the world to be able to play together in LBP; it's a "worldwide community." Hence, we figure the beta should be the same way. Let us know if you see anything, hopeful beta testers!

Alot of people in the EU (including myself) were'nt happy about the eurogamer thing. Whilst those codes are for our region, it seems more americans came and grabbed the codes than EU people leaving us left out. Good thing there is so many to go around though.

By the way, the invites that were sent out today were for the beta testers from EU. Everyone else is still waiting for news.

Am in the beta test! There are alot of tutorials to go through what i can't be bothered to do again when the full game comes out. It takes along time to get the hang of but you can tell its the "best game" out there to date. There is already alot of great designs by other beta testers what are much better than the levels you have. You have to unlock all your tools what take hours, i hope there's a cheat code when the game comes out to get everything.

The amout of designs and just random stuff really you can do is amazing! But i got to say i felt like turning the game off the first 30mins of playing untill you pick up titps and hints. After creating my first level i can see what people could do with only a few tools... It will be a system seller! PSN craigo

I tried to get an invite yesterday but the page wouldn't load so I gave up. Some people on the community I work for got codes though and are in the clouds today. Most of them said it was the best game they've played in a looong while (and these are people that have been playing games all their life). So, yes.. I'm very excited about LBP and damn I wish the page would've loaded yesterday.
