Weekly PSN Update Includes Bioshock, Eternal Sonata Demos

It'll be tough to top last week's PlayStation Store update - Wipeout HD, Burnout Paradise, Mega-Man 9, etc. - but this week's content isn't anything to sneeze at.

To celebrate its impending October 21 release, Bioshock now has a playable demo up and ready for sampling, and that's bound to get plenty of attention from PlayStation 3 owners who have never had the pleasure of exploring the intensely atmospheric world of Rapture. In addition, Ubisoft has thrown up a playable demo of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, one of the more anticipated shooters of the year. This demo will allow you to play through the first mission of the game, where Sgt. Matt Baker and the 101st Airborne Division begin their noble quest. Lastly, all you RPG fans can download a demo for the original and enticing JRPG, Eternal Sonata, while one demo each for NBA 2K9 and Beijing 2008 joins the fun on the Store. Just like last week, there are plenty of new reasons to log on to the Network and peruse its wares. Downloadable trailers are one thing, but to be able to play a bunch of new games? It's one of the biggest benefits of this new generation.

Once you're done trying Bioshock for the first time, we guarantee you'll be rushing to the store on the 21st. Of course, you had better bring some extra cash for all the other games you want! LittleBigPlanet comes out that day, too, remember...

Bioshock didnt really do it for me. I dont see why people called it game of the year last year. Is it me? Cause I didnt really get into the demo. I might get Eternal Sonata though. And I loved the LBP video they have up on the store! And it seems as though NBA 2K9 will be top dog in basket ball games this year, like its predecessors.

I will try out the Bioshock demo, however I want to save my cash for Killzone2 and a decent racer. It may or may not be GT5... expecting something good from CodeMaster's Formula 1 license... let us hope they have listened to the positive criticism GRID received and implement decent physics for a Formula One game, which have been so wanting in the past!

I was playing the Bioshock Demo and I got stuck on a wall near a stair case. Then I had to restart the game.

I played the Bioshock demo, i noticed glitches in the corpses after you hit them in the head with a pipe it doesn't leave as many marks on the body as it did on the 360 version

I'll get em both this second (if i can get my PS3 to sign in) though I'm heavily doubting paying full price for Bio. Yeah its new to us Sony Only types, but its still old news. Probly be a bargain bin thing for yours truly.

Is it me or did Bioshock seem out dated? Maybe its cause I've been spoiled by the likes of Uncharted and MGS4. None the less graphics aint everything, it still plays really well and that to a gamer is pure gold. The only concern is the price, $60 just doesnt seem right for a game thats been out as long as this one. That being said, Its still on my list.

It's not u alone,is most of us,the likes of Uncharted, mgsiv, gtaiv have made games like bioshock look out-dated,matter fact is out-dated.
it's like playin cod4 n goin back to resistance, don't get me wrong resistance was great at "dat time",not now.

Played the demos. Bioshock was awesome as I expected. I already played half of the game b4 but was curious to see what it looked like on the PS3. The demo did hiccup on me however... the dialog got a little screwy in one of the cut scenes, but whatever. ES was awesome too, but I prefer Valkyrie Profile over that game any day, so I'll probably pass when it releases.

Was definitely a great update tho. I'm still downloading BiA atm. Can't wait to try that one out as well.

I've been playing Rogue Galaxy for a little while now, and when I installed the Eternal Sonata demo, I wanted to be able to jump so bad I couldn't stand it.... but I eventually started to like the battle system once I got the hang of it. Only problem is I have a crappy SD tv and the sides of the screen are cut off, so I might not want to buy the game for that reason alone.

Mister Ben,meh! Bioshock feels like condemned 2,i don't think i'll pick dat,i think it was highly rated cause good games like it were not a lot round dat time(just like resistance n gears),if it was released round this time i don't think it will get much attention,i doubt the ps3 version will have dat attention.
Might go for Quantum of Solace rather

Having sampled the demo, I am certain BioShock will rule my life for the remainder of the year. Sorry, LittleBigPlanet/Resistance2/Fall Out 3/Prince of Persia/Tomb Raider.
