Guitar Hero: World Tour Deluxe Version Detailed, Priced

Over the past few years, the question has lingered: does the high price of music-based games like Guitar Hero hinder sales? The excellent sales of each title has answered that question beyond any shadow of a doubt, but now the question is: are the fans willing to shell out even more for a special "Deluxe Version?"

According to GameSpot, RedOctane has priced a special Guitar Hero: World Tour Deluxe bundle set: the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions will retail for $239.99 while the PS2 and Wii versions will be slightly less costly at $219.99. What do you get with this mammoth package? The game, a USB microphone, a five-pad drum kit complete with kick pedal, two drumsticks, guitar and drum wireless receivers, a Guitar Hero: World Tour guitar faceplate, a guitar strap, a sticker pack, a dual recharge kit and dual "gig bag," and a freakin' t-shirt and keychain. 'whew' Now that's a Deluxe Version! Now, if you're wondering how this is different from the regular version - priced at $189.99 - it seems the extra $50 should be well spent if you want to go Deluxe. The standard version only includes the game, faceplate, drum kit, microphone, and guitar. The extra goodies listed above only come with the special, more expensive package, and it could be worth it for hardcore fans of the franchise. The deluxe bundle will release on October 26.

But if either of the aforementioned options are still too pricey, you do have another choice: Activision will release a guitar-only Guitar Hero: World Tour bundle for the PS3, 360 and Wii for $109.99 while the PS2 version will retail for $99.99. Well, the holidays are all about spending the cash, right? And there are lots of GH fans out there. Like, millions.

will the normal version have wireless instruments? If not then the special edition is worth it I guess. But I know when I buy it in the back of my mind there will be a voice saying that I could buy a Wii for just a little more. But then again I cant justify purchasing a console for three or four games I really want to play.

mk ultra, all the instruments are wireless but I don't really know what they're talking about here... But I think this bundle is a waste of money, just a gimmick to jack sales a little.

For the extra $50 I would rather them include a bass guitar that way you could actually have a full band I liked how rackband made a special bass guitar for the bass players it would be sweet if RedOctane did the same and included it in this bundle I'm sure it would move alot of rockband fans to guitar hero.

This is a rental for me. After reading all of the info I can on this game it looks like the music creator is not all it is made out to be. The graghics are not as clean as RB2, but the open hits on the bass look sick!!
So now bass players have 6 notes. 5 you press and one with no buttons, you just strum..
I will not preorder it, but I will for sure rent it to see if I will buy it.
