No Tekken 6 For PS3, But Bloodline Rebellion Is Confirmed

Uh-oh...did we just hear the collective screams of frustration from hundreds of thousands of PlayStation 3 owners around the globe? Yep, the cloud of irritation is currently passing our window; it's very dark, and very threatening.

But wait! The skies will rapidly clear when the disgruntled group hears the good news, which should right the wrong. According to breaking news first delivered by IGN during one of their recent podcasts, it seems the original Tekken 6 - released in the arcades in 2007 - will not be coming to the PS3. However, Tekken 6: Bloodline Rebellion, which is essentially the arcade version with a bunch of extras, is headed to Sony's platform. All of this was taken from Namco Bandai's special pre-TGS press conference yesterday, so although we don't have official clarification, we have to assume this report is accurate. Fighting fans have been patiently waiting for Tekken 6 for quite a long time now, and if Namco didn't plan to deliver the game in some form, the backlash wouldn't have been pretty. But it's certainly good to know the game is indeed coming, although we're not entirely sure just how different Bloodline Rebellion is from the original arcade version. Hopefully, we'll receive more details on that in the very near future.

Now all we're hoping for is a release date to come out of TGS; we've waited long enough, so when will a Tekken installment finally come to the PS3? We're sure this new version should satisfy the fans, but not if they have to wait another year...

bloodline rebellion has 2 extra characters, lars and alisa, and a good few new stages, and updates have been added, the damages of the combos have been toned down, bob was fixed, rage will be activated at even lower health...i think we still have to wait till june of next year to play this game...

Good and bad news I suppose. I had no idea Tekken 6 was already out on arcade. Oh well, I just wanna fight in HD online sometime in the near future.

The title refers to the quirky Mishima family within the game that all want to kill one another. Heihachi, Kazuya, Jin Kazama, and Lars are all part of the family, though Lars is keeping his heritage a secret for some reason. They're the ones with the funny hair.

Yeah, it was announced for the 360 as well, but... it was built on the PS3 so... you know, backwards porting and all that. Plus... the 360's controller isn't made to play fighting games at all. the best Tekken 6: BR experience is through the PS3 with an arcade stick, and if not, the Dual Shock 3 is the next best thing.

From what I remember, the arcade machine's hardware was mostly the same as a PS3 under the hood. The PS3 version shouldn't have taken this long to come out but I am sure it will be worth it.

Bloodlines is basically the Dark Resurrection of T6, Tekkens the only fighting game i can enjoy but T6 is pushing it, when you hit people on the ground they bounce so you can continue combos, i though T5's Juggling (Combo while keeping your opponent in the air) was cheap enough! i hope they dont f*** it up, i need a good Tekken, as for priorities the console version is more important than the arcade

Also, Released Fall 2009! Thats absurd! I was expecting Tekken 6 to be one of the 1st games on the Next gen console, Its taking far to long!

& another matter, WTF is that new male character, He looks like stupid Anime Character, Thank f*** you can change what the characters look like!
