Famitsu Reveals Tecmo PS3 Exclusive, Quantum Theory
Exclusives are crucial when consumers consider a console purchase, and there's no doubt that the PlayStation 3 may have the best exclusive lineup out there. It would take a while to run down the list, but let's just say that in 2008 alone, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2, and more will lead the way.
And next year, it'll be all about Killzone 2, God of War III, Heavy Rain, and...Temco's Quantum Theory? This is a scan of the recent Famitsu magazine (it popped up in the GameTrailers forums), and as far as we can tell, it's a third-person shooter scheduled for next year, and yes, it's exclusive to the PS3. Now, unless you can read Japanese, you won't find much in the way of details for this one, but perhaps it'll be among the new games on tap at the Tokyo Game Show this week. Also, we wonder if this project has anything to do with the upcoming Tecmo/Koei merger, although it seems Quantum Theory must've been in development for some time. The pictures are very pretty, and for some bizarre reason, that character in the bottom right looks a hell of a lot like Raiden in MGS4...doesn't it? We're pretty sure that's a female in the magazine, though. If we didn't know this was from Tecmo, we'd almost think the designs came from Kojima and Co., which would certainly spark a firestorm of speculation and rumor.
Anyway, stay tuned for more on Quantum Theory; we'll let you know if more information comes to light during TGS. If not, we'll keep scanning about for early details.
