Dead Space: "World's Scariest Game"
Wait...is Dead Space just really good, or is this a game that could redefine an entire genre and become one of the best titles of the new generation? Is it that good?
Everyone seems to think it is. Yet another early review has popped up; it's from the latest edition of PSW magazine, which goes on sale tomorrow. According to CVG, PSW calls Dead Space the "world's scariest game," and it's now "the new benchmark to beat in survival/horror that pushes the genre to twisted new heights and into the outer limits of space itself." They conclude by giving it a 9/10 (that's the third 9/10 we've seen, by the way), and we have to say, we're thoroughly psyched for this one. Capcom is going to have their hands full trying to compete, it seems, even though we have every confidence that Resident Evil 5 will be fantastic. Here's more from the article:
"This is bold, bleak gaming from the haunting opening credits to the pulse pounding finish. Stunningly detailed, expertly paced and lavishly slaved over by Glen Schofield and his crew at EA Redwood, Dead Space should be classed as one of the finest looking and intelligently crafted games in many a moon."
Will we have equally high praise for Dead Space? Well, you'll just have to stay tuned to find out. This could very well be one of EA's best titles, and that's a good sign for the publisher. If you like being creeped out, it seems they've got you covered...

Back on topic, this is looking more and more like a must buy, as a horror writer I love it when something can really creep me out, and it's been awhile since that's happened. God knows hollywood movies have forgotten how to do it, my PS3 library requires a game of this type.
