Prince Of Persia Classic For PSN
The PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace have allowed remakes to become a frequent occurrence in this new generation loaded with flash and dazzle. We just got Bionic Commando Rearmed, and now another remake is headed to the PSN.
According to this snippet from the UK PlayStation site, Prince of Persia Classic is currently in the works. Initially released way back in 1989, the developers will rework the graphics "for the High Definition era," and the remake will also boast "new character designs, animations, controls, content and three game modes." This will include the challenging Survival mode, which asks you to complete the entire game without dying once. We have no further details at this time, but you can probably expect a price tag of somewhere around $9.99, and we're hoping it'll hit the Store in time for the 2008 holiday season. Old-school fans will certainly get a kick out of this one; even though the franchise has continued on, it's certainly nothing like it once was (and advancement isn't a bad thing). It's just that we sometimes like to take a trip down memory lane, even if there are updated visuals.
As a side note, the next-gen Prince of Persia remains one of our most anticipated titles for the year; it's set to release in November and if done correctly, it could be one of the absolute best of 2008.
