Home Launches On November 19, Boosts PS3 Holiday Sales?
It seems there have been a couple interesting Home-related developments; the first of which will appeal to those who track sales statistics like hounds on the hunt, the second of which will simply appeal to all current and prospective PlayStation 3 owners.
Let's start with the first on the list: Sony Computer Entertainment Chairman and CEO Kaz Hirai recently told the Wall Street Journal that he fully expects PlayStation Home to boost PS3 sales, and he doesn't expect the erratic economy to have an adverse effect on the next-gen console. This goes in line with recent analyst predictions regarding the current market position and the "cocooning" effect the gaming industry so often benefits from during economic lags. But nobody is surprised to hear that Home should help PS3 sales, right? What we're really interested in is when Home arrives...and that information may have been leaked. According to Australian site PC Authority, Sony plans to launch Home on November 19, which is just over a month away. If this is true, the timing is immaculate; it sets up the PS3 perfectly for the first major holiday rush in Black Friday, and should continue to give the system a boost through Christmas.
Sony didn't confirm the previous rumor that Home might launch on October 24, and they will likely remain mute on the possibility of a November 19 release. When they feel like handing out the official press release, they will do so, and we won't get anything definitive until that time. But as soon as that time comes, you will know the truth. Will it be Nov. 19...?

As for no one knowing of it. I have several 360 fanboy friends who want to buy a PS3 because of Home. People who are interested in purchases like these are fairly well informed.
Assuming Home launches well, it'll gain huge acclaim and shift units by the truck load.

Same goes for LBP and just about anything Sony for that matter. The only commercials I ever see for Sony are the ones where they combine 4 or so games, only showing like a split sec of each one. It's a cool commercial, don't get me wrong, yet it's too quick and forgettable...
