FIFA 09 Arrives at Stores

European gamers have had their copies for the past week, but now it's time for us Americans to play some virtual footy. EA Sports has shipped FIFA 09 to stores nationwide; so by the time you all read this, your local Best Buy or GameStop's now got their copies. This year's FIFA marks some rather large changes over last year's game by utilizing 500 new animations, and an all new collision detection engine and shielding system.

EA remarks that the changes for FIFA 09 are the biggest the series has had in four years, and we're very excited to see the new collision detection system play out. In case you're no familiar with what C.D. is, it's essentially how players react to bumping into each other or objects. If you see a player's hand or leg go through something, that's a clear sign of poor collision detection. Now, players in FIFA 09 will behave as realistically as possible when bumping, shoving, and crashing is involved, claiming "speed, direction and strength determine everything from the severity of the collision to the outcome of possession."

Sounds great, doesn't it? We've played FIFA 09 a few times during this past summer, and we can tell you that the differences are noticeable, and make for a less frustrating experience, especially when you're playing defense. Look for FIFA 09 to arrive on your local store shelves today.

Pro Evo is good but only ever gets a few licenses for football clubs. I dont like playing it for the simple reason Merseyside Red (Liverpool) and Merseyside Blue (Everton) and stuff like that. This year Pro Evo has Liverpool and Man U as the licensed football clubs not sure if any more have bee made available.
Anyhow I got Fifa 09 for the PS3 and for some reason I am finding it easy on semi pro a level I struggled with last year but this year I am coasting through so either I have become good on it without realising and need to up a level or it has been made slightly easier with this years version. Even my cousin who got it for the 360 said he found it a bit easy too. Anyone else finding it easy ? Anyhow it is a great game all the same and I recommend it to anyone who wants a decent footy (soccer) game.

pro is much better, the gameplay is un matchable, even if they dont beat fifa for graphics, tho you really shouldnt be playing a sports game just for graphics, yeah they dont have the english license like fifa have, but its not hard to just go into the editor and change the names, would only take ten min, orrrr you can download the game file off multiple sites which u can easily just put into your ps3 game settings and it has all real names, badges and kits for the english league, all the other leagues allready have the offial license's

i've had the worst luck with this game. I thought it came out on the 3rd but i was wrong. then the release date was october 14 so i skipped out of my classes and went to get i yesterday and NOOOOWHEREEE had it. Then this morning i got up bright and early and still, NOOWWWHHEERRREEE had it. So, I sucked it up and went into Gamestop as soon as it opened...*cringe* I hadn't bought anything from them for over a year because usually when i go in they just rant and rave about how good the 360 is. but today the guy was super cool and went and got me a copy of Fifa out of the back and just told me to have fun playing. I'm loving this game, it was well worth all of the frustration, and I'm hoping this is also a changing point for the Gamestop around here. Gotta get back to the game now!!!
