Dual XP Earning In Resistance 2 Co-Op May Arrive Later
Obviously, the currently running Resistance 2 beta is a big topic of conversation all over the Internet, and as more people become involved, more questions begin to arise. You know, anything related to what changes or enhancements we might see in the final version; that kind of thing.
Anyway, as we're getting more details and information regarding both the single-player and multiplayer options in the hotly anticipated FPS, it seems Insomniac will have to add something vital at a later time: split-screen co-op XP. Over at the official PlayStation blog, Insomniac Community Relations Manager James Stevenson answered a few questions, and one of them was: "...if I play split screen co-op would my friend get XP for me also? Like if he played a medic and I played a solier, would they both get XP?" Stevenson's reply:
"Your friend does not generate XP we hope that at a certain point, well be able to allow your friend to log into their own PSN account and earn their own XP, but right now that functionality isnt available."
So for now, don't think your friend will be doing you any favors in split-screen co-op mode nor will he generate any XP for himself, although Stevenson hints the feature may arrive in the future. If you want to head over to the blog via the link above, feel free; they clue you in on a few more beta details and even talk about the newly announced Collector's Edition. It's one of the biggest releases of the year, and we can't wait!
