Resistance 2 Beta Keys MIA At IGN
Update: As one reader has just explained, it seems a lot of Euro gamers who received beta keys from Play.com have suffered a frustrating issue: they don't work. We're not sure why there's such a problem getting our buddies across the pond into the R2 beta, but we hope Sony can iron things out quickly. We'll keep you updated, and in the meantime, don't be surprised if the code you got from Play is no good. Sorry.
Original Story:
If you're already in the Resistance 2 beta, you may move along to other updates; this doesn't concern you. However, if you're in Europe and you're still searching about for a code key, you probably heard about IGN's giveaway.
IGN was scheduled to hand out a bunch of EU beta keys today, but "due to unforeseen circumstances," there's a delay on those keys, and none will be given out for the time being. Sony tells them they'll receive the codes tomorrow so you may check back then, but this goes in line with some of the issues Sony has faced with the public beta thus far. The initial issues were expected - erratic Network activity due to everyone on earth trying to get the R2 beta and play SOCOM - but recently, the beta had to be brought down for a while. According to an update over in the official Resistance 2 forums, the team had to take the beta offline to deal with several recurring problems, much to the chagrin of testers. It's back online now, but that's not helping certain Euro gamers who were promised a chance to nab a test spot today. Oh well, if it helps at all, you should know there's still plenty of time, and the beta really is worth the wait.
So if you like, check back over at IGN tomorrow to see about those keys. In the meantime, you can take solace in the fact that more than a few awesome games come out this week (save the recently delayed LittleBigPlanet).

Plays codes were all closed beta codes (which is obviously down now)So when people tried to play it they were playing "Girl with a Stick" which we know is not the public beta as this is "Resistance 2 beta"
It seems all the codes that Sony had were for the closed beta (explains why not many got any of those too) They're looking to rectify this problem and distribute the codes by tomorrow. But nothing is for sure in this business.
Especially when it comes to SCEE.
