Street Fighter IV Heading To North American Shores "This Winter"
Fighting fans everywhere have been waiting for any news on a North American release date for Street Fighter IV. There was the possibility it might launch alongside the movie in February, and that possibility remains after X-Play interviewed SFIV producer Yoshi Ono.
In response to the question on everyone's minds (damnit, when's the game coming to U.S. shores?!), Ono had this to say in reply:
"There is no official North American arcade release, so we kind of feel bad that you guys have to wait for it. That's why we're trying to get it to you as soon as possible. Before the Japanese have a really long period of time to get really good at it first and totally kick your butt online... We don't want to start rumors that it's this year, but definitely this winter. At some point you'll be sitting in you winter coat looking at snow out the window...and right then we'll kind of heat you up a little with some hot street fighter action so look forward to that."
It's still not an exact release date but at least it's an official reply. This year, Soul Calibur IV satisfied many a fighting fan despite its widespread casual appeal, and there's always those Tekken fans lying in wait for the sixth installment. But for some, Street Fighter IV is tops on the priority list, and winter isn't that far off...
