Home Ad Pops Up In PSN Registration

The last rumored release date for PlayStation Home is November 19, which Sony will neither confirm or deny. All anybody gets from them is either dead silence or the standard, "we don't comment on rumor or speculation."

However, they publicly stand by the statement that the open beta - which is now technically considered to be the official launch of the hotly anticipated community application - will still release "some time this fall." A new bit of evidence may prove Home is just around the corner, too: someone over at the official PlayStation forums noticed a prominent advertisement for Home when a user goes to sign up for a new Network account. It's right there next to the PlayStation Store and PlayStation Eye, and we have to assume this is a good sign. Outside sources hyping it up isn't the same as Sony releasing an ad to new PlayStation 3 owners (or old ones who never got around to making an account). We would ask Sony about this but we can already predict the reply; we have to wait until an official announcement/press release goes out. But as we get closer to that supposed November 19 launch, all signs are pointing towards a positive confirmation...

If you have the opportunity, ask those who have been involved with the closed Home beta how things are looking. They'll probably give you some cool inside info, as we've heard plenty of great feedback from testers. Soon, though, you will get your chance to try it out for yourself!

What has me excited is the FIGHTING games scene in PSHOME

Have you guys seen the SFIV support PSHOME will have? It's beautiful...

I really hope we can go to the Arcade rooms in PSHOME just like we would in real life. But with a lot more people.

While walking around in Home, if you have the SFIV disk in and you meet someone else who has their game in, you can each morph a street fighter character and start fighting right there in home...ANYWHERE! Common area, somebody's living room, bowling alley!

Nah, not really, but that would be awesome!

What happened to that 10-24 apartment building clue. Or was that just nothing?

I'm a beta tester and the site had some great additions over the past month that are no secret. Particularly the Far Cry 2 space. Home will be the place to be on-line when you aren't playing a game. I talk to several friends on the PSN through voice and video chat sessions so it's going to be real cool to do it in Home when it releases.

Home must be right around the corner! Why else would they post up an advert for it on the PSN sign-up?

Very excited :)

True, but as this has been in development for so long, do you really think so?
