Guitar Zeros Take Guitar Hero To A Whole New Level
Perhaps it was bound to happen. Given the immense popularity of music-based games these days, due mostly to the Guitar Hero and Rock Band franchises, it was only a matter of time before some guys somewhere took the next step... We just never realized how far you could take it.
They've already got worldwide competitions - you may want to check out the Rock Band 2 competition on VH1 Classic with Alice Cooper and Sebastian Bach - but what if the plastic instruments in question became something more? Well, just ask the Guitar Zeros, who have created their own original music using instruments from the super popular rhythm game. They're playing entirely original music, made with the combination of laptops and Guitar Hero guitars, and in all honesty, you have to see it to believe it. There's a video at the link there, and we strongly suggest you check it out; you won't need our explanation once you do. We're willing to bet Neversoft imagined their unique controllers could be used in such a way, but yep, they can. God only knows what might happen if these guys got their hands on all the Rock Band or Rock Revolution instruments.
Anyway, it seems the response to this original style of music-making, fueled by Activision Blizzard's multi-million-selling franchise, has been quite positive. Most find it hard to believe that those sounds can come out of those plastic guitars, but creativity and a wee bit of ambition can go a long way. The Guitar Zeros are definitely worth a look-see; it's a real band using video game instruments!
