Will Arnett, Neil Patrick Harris Lend Voices To Matt Hazard
There’s nothing better than a fictional ‘80s superhero.
Today, D3Publisher has announced that two very recognizable voices will lead the voice cast of Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, the third-person shooter with the unique and nostalgic premise. Headed to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 at some point during the first quarter of 2009, the game will feature Will Arnett and Neil Patrick Harris. Arnett, best known for his quirky roles on “Arrested Development” and “30 Rock,” will be the voice of Hazard, which makes perfect sense. That guy can do corny serious better than anyone on the planet, and he will make us laugh. Harris lends his voice to Wallace “Wally” Wellesley, the new owner of huge game publisher Marathon Megasoft. Initially, Wellesley simply wants to give Hazard a chance to relive his glory days in Eat Lead, but as it turns out, someone is actually trying to bring about the hero’s death by manipulating the game… Said Pete Andrew, vice president of product development for D3P:
“Eat Lead parodies some of the the most beloved genres of games and pop culture, so it was important that we find the perfect voice talent to bring both Matt Hazard and Wallace Wellesley to life. Both Will and Neil are life long videogamers and their experiences playing games combined with their comedic genius and superb voice talent will make Eat Lead a must-have title for the Xbox 360 and PLAYSTATION 3 system.”
Both actors are quite accomplished. Neil Patrick Harris began with the popular “Doogie Howser, M.D.” way back when, and has since moved on to an Emmy-nominated role in “How I Met Your Mother.” He’s also been active on the Broadway scene and has been involved in movies like “Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle” and “Undercover Brother.” Arnett was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Gob in “Arrested Development” and has since been in films like “Blades of Glory” and “Semi-Pro.” So at the very least, we’ve got two great actors for Vicious Cycle’s Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard.
