Resistance 2 Beta Extended To November 3 In North America

This is where what you perceive to be the final scene of a movie ends; the screen fades to black, and you get up and gather your coat. But wait! Another scene begins, and you sit back down...confused, but happy. This movie was awesome and you want more.

The Resistance 2 beta test technically ended yesterday as Insomniac took down the servers. But hey, they're back up again for North American gamers! For stability reasons, they have decided to extend the beta through the weekend until Monday, November 3 (one day before the game launches). Here's the quote from the official Resistance 2 forums:

In order to continue working on the stability of our servers in advance of Resistance 2's North American launch, we've decided to extend the beta period from today to Monday, November 3. The North American beta servers will go down at 8:00 p.m. PST on that day. So enjoy a few extra rounds of R2 co-op and competitive multiplayer over the weekend before the game hits retail shelves next Tuesday.

Niiiice. If you think you didn't really get enough time with the beta, you now have another weekend to satisfy that urge. Besides, as the beta continues right up until the launch of the final product, there should be little to no downtime in the online multiplayer fun! So don't waste the opportunity; log on and indulge in some more blasting.

Having the servers ready for a game release? What a Novel idea, too bad some other game companies hadn't thought of this...Although I'm waiting for the actual release date to see if it will actually happen..If everything runs smoothly on November 4, I'll be really surprised. Although if they pull it off, it will give Insomniac a good boost as being an reliable company.

For me Cooperation mode online is great. The people you play with really do want to work as a team with you to reach a goal. Kind of get that feeling of Burnout online or LBP online.

The competitive mode seems like more of the same as ever other shooter, just run around crazy and shoot everything that moves, kill, die, respawn and repeat.

I have to agree with you the coop on this game actually seems to work unlike most games with a team deathmatch option where you can't get a person to cover you for anything.

I actually had someone respawn me the first day the servers went up for the beta. I was astonished.

The servers were down yesterday? I didn't notice, I was playing last nite.

Anyway, I completely agree with you guys. Co-op is awesome, and it truly feels like everyone is working with each other. Everyone goes out of their way to respawn each other faster.

I don't think you can any more. It's great for sure, but November 4th is just around the corner. We'll do some co-op online. At least with full retail the experience points will stick.

I deleted the install last night I don't think I will download it again. It took to long the last time I downloaded it.
