Resistance 2 Takes "420 Hours" To Do Absolutely Everything
Perhaps it's due to the seemingly constant backlash from gamers who always cry about how a game isn't long enough; how it didn't take up enough time to be worthy of that $60 price tag. But whatever the reason, Insomniac is hell-bent on letting everyone know: if you wish to do absolutely everything Resistance 2, is gonna take a while.
This past week, we heard it would take "15-20 hours" to see and conquer every possible incarnation of the Cooperative mode. Now, according to Kotaku, Sony says that if you want to "unlock everything" in Resistance 2, it will take about 420 hours of total play time. Now, the single-player campaign obviously won't take 400+ hours (we're expecting about 10-15), but if you want to unlock every level, locate every hidden item and max out every single available class, you could dump MMO-like hours into this massively anticipated FPS. We're not entirely sure if maxing out every class is something most gamers will want to do - in fact, we're willing to bet that few will - but nevertheless, this title's longevity is clear. We suppose that if you factor in the virtually countless hours one can spend playing online, R2 could be the only title you need this holiday season. We're not advising you to stay away from other promising games, though; not with the lineup that will be on store shelves for holiday shoppers.
However, if you had to pick one game, we'd probably recommend Resistance 2 at this point. Early reviews are already saying it's as awesome as we've been hoping (IGN gave it a 9.5, for example), and if the beta is any indication, we already know it's going to kick ass.

if you're wondering, I've played 14 1/2 days online on COD4. now 400 hours??.. That's crazy. They also said it was extremely hard to get to 10th prestige in under 10 days. LIES

And for the record, I have logged in almost 1000 hours of play time over multiple playthroughs of Final Fantasy Tactics. So, actually, I win. Just so we're all clear... ;)
