Atari Officially Hires The Ghostbusters
And so, the rumors were true: Atari has snapped up the previously homeless Ghostbusters: The Video Game, and are prepared to publish it some time next year.
One of the casualties of the Activision/Blizzard merger, the game had been floating about looking for a new publisher. One of the other casualties, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, found a new home with THQ, and now, Terminal Reality's project is headed to Atari. According to GameSpot, the title will help celebrate the classic movie's 25th anniversary. As head of Atari UK PR Lee Kirton said- "It's incredibly exciting to be publishing Ghostbusters as a title. It has a huge fan base and looks absolutely fantastic." The rumor that Atari was taking the reigns began when Dan Akyroyd let it slip to a radio station, and good ol' Ray from the Ghostbusters squad also prematurely mentioned the game's existence in the Edmonton Sun. So we figured that unofficial radio announcement had some weight behind it; how could he not know if Atari had picked up the publishing duties for his game? Remember, most of the original cast are directly involved with the creation and production of Ghostbusters: The Video Game.
So now that it's back on track, we expect to see new info and details over the next few months. Hopefully, Terminal Reality won't mess this one up; we'd hate to see the good "Ghosbusters" name get tarnished...

Another thing to think about is are they going to include/support online play? Any game that comes out now that doesn't have some kind of online interaction in it is going to be that much harder to sell.
