Blue Castle Developing Dead Rising 2, Coming To PS3?
The original Dead Rising was a solid Xbox 360 exclusive that involved a whole lot of zombie slaying with a host of grisly tools (like a lawnmower). Of course, ever since then, publisher Capcom has reinforced its multiplatform focus for the new generation now that the PlayStation 3 has come into its own. Hence, can we believe the sequel will be available on the PS3?
According to Eurogamer, "a source close to Canadian developer Blue Castle Games" has said the studio is currently working on Dead Rising 2. We heard this rumor before, and although Capcom still hasn't officially confirmed anything, the source in question said: "Everyone's really excited; the team has obviously seen the rumours and it's been hard to keep quiet, but they can't wait to show off the game." If you're not familiar with Blue Castle, they've already provided us with The Bigs and MLB Front Office Manager, and the developer describes themselves as a "full-service, multi-project and multi-platform third-party developer." The only other hint is in regards to their upcoming projects; there are three, and one of them is an "unannounced Action title." ...yeah, if everything turns out to be true, that title is going to be the long-awaited sequel to Dead Rising. Let's hope they don't stray from the formula too much, because the original got most things right.
Anyway, we're about 75% certain that this sequel will come to Sony's console. It was a unique situation the first time around; the PS3 wasn't even out yet, and Capcom's multiplatform reinforcement has been reflected in its projects (Devil May Cry 4, Resident Evil 5, etc.). We'll let you know when/if the announcement arrives.

To those crying for a port of the original, I feel ya. But hey, at least the PS3 isn't getting the horrible DR "port" for the Wii - seriously, it totally loses the spirit of the original.
