Bioshock PS3 Patch Releases Early?
Initially, we had heard this big patch wasn't going to come out until next week, but it seems some PlayStation 3 owners are reporting an early release of the Bioshock update.
If you aren't familiar, log on now to see if you can download the new patch, which features add-on content for the Challenge Rooms and New Game+, plus a variety of technical fixes. For example, some players complained of screwy pixelation in certain places, and there was the "white bar issue" where the troublesome errors popped up during the introductory plane crash scene. Then there are few smaller and rarer issues that have been addressed, like the game crashing when a player hits the PS button during a hacking attempt or "incorrect water fog rendering." 2K Games is clearly all about getting it right, no matter how small or rare the problem is, and you have to applaud that kind of ambition. Of course, the real appeal for most gamers will be the addition of that exclusive downloadable content; PS3 owners had to wait a year for Bioshock so it's only logical that they should revel in a little exclusive goodness.
Of course, if our information is inaccurate and you don't find this update today, it should arrive on the 20th as originally announced. And by the way, whenever we stumble across more info for Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, we'll be sure to let you know.
