Wireless PS3 Keypad Pushed Back
During the Leipzig Games Convention back in August, Sony was good enough to unveil the new PSP-3000, the 160GB PlayStation 3, and the nifty accessory that's bound to help many a gamer: the wireless PS3 keypad, pictured here.
At the time, Sony said it would arrive by the end of November, but according to GameSpot, they're going to miss that estimated launch date. However, you won't have to wait long and the handy accessory will still be out for the holidays; Sony plans to make it available some time during the first week of December. If you're not quite familiar, the picture here will help: it simply snaps onto a Sixaxis or Dual Shock 3 controller and boasts a touch pad mode and even a mouse input. Not surprisingly, Sony reminds everyone that this peripheral will be extra useful to those who plan to toy around with PlayStation Home, where you'll want to quickly text-message your buddies. Also, if you don't have a regular wireless keyboard, this is the perfect accessory for you, as it's a hell of a lot easier than using the on-screen keyboard. That thing is clumsy and cumbersome; it takes a while to punch out a message with your controller. But with the PS3 keypad, all online communication should speed right up.
We'll bring you the full release details when they become available, and there's no need to take this off your holiday wish list. It's still coming...just a bit later, that's all.
