Special Final Fantasy XIII DVD Hits Japan On December 13

For most RPG fans, the title that sits at the top of their priority list is Final Fantasy XIII. Therefore, whenever there's the impending release of more details or media, we're certain a great many people will crave the info.

As some gamers are finding out; first discovered and posted in the NeoGAF forums and then posted up at Final Fantasy-XIII.net, Enterbrain (Famitsu publisher) is all primed and read to release a special DVD called, "Re: Final Fantasy XIII." This promotional disc will feature never-before-seen game trailers from the recent DKS3137 Square-Enix event (unless you were actually at the event), plus some 100% genuine gameplay! This would fall in nicely with Square-Enix's promise that we'd see gameplay footage before 2008 was over, and apparently, they've chosen the method of distribution for this new media. The best part is that this DVD is 60 minutes long, which means it'll be the most complete look at the upcoming blockbuster RPG we've had to date. Unfortunately, we have no idea if this DVD will be made available to North America and/or Europe; so far, you can only pre-order it at Amazon Japan for 2625 yen. The release date is December 13. We're certain much of the footage will pop up on YouTube or something, but we'd vastly prefer a U.S. release.

If we don't get one, we will search high and low to bring you the necessary footage. We'll be looking specifically for gameplay, because that's what we've been waiting for...once we have it, we can finally hit that big red "Hype" button.
