Prince Of Persia Complete, Scheduled To Release Next Week

It's one of the last promising titles of 2008, and provided Ubisoft has done their job, it could easily be one of this generation's best.

According to GameSpot, Ubisoft has wrapped up development on Prince of Persia, and it's now set to arrive at retail stores on December 2 for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. This appears to be one week early based on the latest date of December 9, but the date is no longer important; the game is done, and we can't wait to check it out. Remember, although you may be a huge fan of the last-generation PoPs, this will be a very different animal. It will focus more on faster action and the battles switch to one-on-one boss-like encounters, with your pretty pal, Elika, tailing - and hopefully helping - you at every turn. Ubisoft also says they have plans for future downloadable content that will actually give players "a new experience" rather than just a few add-ons like new costumes and equipment. Obviously, this is good news, because this is exactly the type of game that could use extra longevity through significant DLC. But above all else, we hope the designers got this one right; our expectations really are quite high...

We've already had so many amazing titles in 2008, but would anyone really complain if we got another one for the holidays? We know we wouldn't.

I'm still a bit skeptical about the one-on-one battles as I greatly enjoyed the multiple enemies. I doubt it will be anything big. I'm more worried about Elika's magical flying ability. Regardless, I expect this to be a very amazing title.

Don't spaz folks, but I've never played a PoP game. I'll be watching this closely though.

*GASP!* The Horror! Or um..oh that's okay...I played the first one and thought it was kind a cool, but for some reason never bothered with the others. I'm starting to think I have a habit of never playing through the decent series...MGS, (hate to admit it but I've never played the God of War series either), Now PoP, Maybe I should get that looked at, sounds kind of infectious...lol

I am in the same boat with the both of you I have never played a PoP game. Ever. The only series I have ever played all of is MG yeah I mean MG because I even played the NES games. I played a few of the FF games even though they don't really go in a series per se and RPGs are my favorite which makes not playing all of them unusual to me. I don't know what it is I just can't get myself to play an entire series so good thing I never played the original Killzone or the second GoW.

I played the original PoP... and by "original" I mean old, 8-bit, floppy disk, play-on-Fridays-in-computer-class Prince of Persia....

Does that count?

Prince of Persia was one of my favorite franchises but the Cell Shading Cartoon look is really putting me off.

In fact that is the one thing that put me off about R2. The comic book look doesn't work for me on R2.

I've played through all the POP titles and the 3 one was the best but it was nearly the same experience as the last two, i'm expecting something fresh and new for this one though, and i will surely buy it.

I hope the movie is good, I'll probably wait for the blu-ray but still, why can't anyone make a game into a movie without chewing it up and spitting out garbage?

for some reason, after the original PS2 PoP Sand of Time, I am kinda done with PoP series, dont know why, maybe cuz its all too similar.

This one above seems so cartoonish, and as you know, cartoonish is not my type, be it a RPG, Strategy, or Action/Adventure, therefore I will pass on for this one. I might recruit it at the end of its cycle -- when it becomes 24.99 or below, but not now for me.
