SFII HD Remix Misses UK This Week

Sorry, UK gamers, we have to deliver another bit of bad news, although we're hoping this particular delay isn't longer than a week.

While both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace will receive Street Fighter II HD Remix this week in the U.S. (Live tomorrow, PSN on Thursday), Capcom has confirmed to CVG that the revamped fighter will not arrive this week in the UK for the PS3. It'll still come to Live, but once again, PS3 owners are forced to wait...although we don't have a reason as to why. All Capcom would say is "definitely not this week," which also means it may not release next week, either. This one should be worth the wait, though; old-school remakes like these can be super crazy fun - especially in the nostalgia department - and for a very reasonable fee, you can relive the glory days of the 2D fighter. There will be a few minor differences, of course, like the high-definition visuals and updated gameplay, but obviously, it's still the Street Fighter we all fell in love with way back when. If you haven't bought a lot on the PSN this year, Street Fighter II HD Remix should be considered as a purchase. Let's just hope you UK gamers won't have to wait too long.

As soon as Capcom delivers a new date, we'll be sure to tell you about it. "Definitely not this week" may not sound too good, but we'll just cross our fingers for a December 4 release.

I remember playing the Street Fighter series; don't know if I am willing to purchase the games again to play on my PS3; those days are consigned to history. Looking forward to GoWIII and KZ2 now.

*Ignores Sora's bizarre post*

Fifteen bucks is a bit much for this simple a game, and it doesn't look too souped up either. Think I'll pass.

Seriously. This should be no more than $10. And as a big Street Fighter fan, I wouldn't even pay THAT much. Of course, I'm really freaking stingy.

It seems to be just certification issues. From what I can recall the Live process is global for Arcade games, whereas the PSN still has separate processes for SCEA and SCEE. SCEE being slower than SCEA isn't really a surprise.

I remember hearing talk a while back about Sony working to streamline the process so that games certified in one region can go straight into others without having to jump through the same hoops all over again, but I guess that hasn't quite happened yet.

There are probably still a few hoops to jump through to get this underway. LOL!
