SCEA: Top Blockbuster Films For PSN This Holiday Season
When it was announced that downloadable movies would be coming to the PlayStation Network, it represented yet another appreciated upgrade to the PS3's set of capabilities. And this holiday season, why battle the elements when you can download the best movies in the most brilliant high definition?
Sony Computer Entertainment America plans to deliver a blockbuster lineup of movie titles to the Network over the next month, which will add to the 1,000 movies and 2,500 television shows already available. Among the upcoming films are "The Dark Knight" and "Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," so if you missed either satisfying experience in the theater and don't feel like shelling out $30 for the Blu-Ray, you can pick 'em up for half that price. Susan Panico, Senior Director of the PlayStation Network, says the early response to this service has been "phenomenal."
"The consumer demand we’ve seen for our PlayStation®Network video delivery service is phenomenal, and we expect continued momentum this holiday season with a line-up of blockbuster movies that offer something for everyone. Complementing this demand for high-definition downloadable content, the new 160GB PS3 bundle enables customers to download and store even more movies, TV shows, games, music and photos, making the PS3 the ultimate entertainment center and holiday gift."
Here are some of the top movies that will come to the Network in the next week:
- The Dark Knight (12/9)
- Fred Claus (11/25)
- Hancock – rated and unrated(11/25)
- Horton Hears a Who (12/9)
- Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (11/26)
- Step Brothers – unrated(12/2)
- X-Files: I Want To Believe (12/2)
And if you want to let someone purchase these, or any other content available on the PSN, the PlayStation Network Card is always a great gift idea. You can find them at Blockbuster, Pamida, Target, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and other retail outlets around the country, and you can get them in $20 and $50 denominations. High-def movies on demand at the cheapest prices out there!
