Killzone 2 Release Date Emerging?
While we lie in wait to deliver our thoughts and impressions on our special Killzone 2 experience outside the beta, we continue to search for news regarding a finalized release date.
According to TheGameReviews.com, the current rumored date is February 17, which is backed up by both GameSpot and GameStop. The website's recent On the Spot episode tossed out the aforementioned date, and the retailer also pegs K2 at February 17. On the other hand, Amazon.com still lists a February 1 date, although one could consider that to be an out-of-date placeholder. Sony will only say they're "eyeing" a February launch for the hotly anticipated shooter, but we've known that for quite a while. As for the beta test, that ends this weekend, and the next step may consist of a playable demo for the PlayStation Store, although we have no concrete evidence of that just yet. We do know that, after having spent considerable time in the beta, Killzone 2 will undoubtedly live up to the hype, and considering the amount of hype, that's saying an awful lot. And with the feedback received from testers, Guerilla can make it even better. ...if that's even possible.
Anyway, if we can find a way to nail down that February 17 date, we'll tell you all about it. Until then, just be happy with the "February 2009" estimate; it's really not that far off.

If there is a demo I hope they put some quality into it. I'm in the beta I can tell you this will be a great game. There are many demos, MS Pacific Rift case in point, that don't do justice to the full version of the game. In some instances it can really hurt the sales if the demo leaves people with a bad impression.
