Sign Up For PlayStation Credit Card, Get $150 Off New PS3!
Well, we suppose if you have to have a credit card, why not celebrate your favorite hobby and save some money in the process?
A recent post by the Director of Hardware Marketing, John Koller, over at the official PlayStation blog reveals what you see pictured here: the PlayStation credit card. With it, you can not only charge goods and services, but you can also "earn reward points towards the purchase of PlayStation and Sony products." Furthermore, if you act now, you'll be greeted with a very sweet introductory offer. If you sign up to get this card before December 31, 2008, you can save $150 on the purchase of a new PlayStation 3 console! If you want to take advantage immediately, head on over to SonyRewards and get instant approval for your card, which will give you the $150 credit towards a PS3. Or, you can go here to apply, and when you get your card, just use it to get that PS3. The $150 credit will then appear on your billing statement.
So if you're thinking about getting a credit card, you can just ignore all those silly applications you get in the mail. If you're a gamer, this is the only card you'll need.

I assume it is similar to other deals where by you can earn up to as much as 2-5% off purchases over the long term should you build enough points to warrant those sorts of reductions. Additional I am sure specific products and services being offered by Sony may be targeted to enjoy a greater points discount, depending on what their world wide marketing departments are focusing on at that time.
If you notice, it is a Credit Card and not a Debit card, I guess Visa needs to make some money along the way.

Oh well, in the end it's up to the consumer to decide for themselves I guess.

Who is in the market looking for new credit cards? What about credit scores? The way things are here in the US chances are that a lot of applications will be rejected!
Oh well, I hope this offer will bring new PS3 users, but Sony should have done this months ago.
