Sony Provides Home Update
Oh yes, we're still getting updates, but we have to believe we're in the stretch run by now...
First of all, we have learned that Sony just sent out a bunch of new invites to the closed beta test, so check your inboxes if you haven't gotten in already. Secondly and most importantly, PlayStation Home director Jack Buser has issued a promise that "everyone" will be able to enjoy Home before the year is out. We've heard this before, of course, but the more they say it, the more we're inclined to believe it. Said Buser-
"Like we've said, we're excited about moving PlayStation Home into its open beta stage this year. Once we make the move to open beta, everyone will have access to PlayStation Home.PlayStation Home is nearing the final stages of our closed beta. Last week we successfully moved to our 1.0 client, which places us on schedule for the launch of open beta this year." (Source- Eurogamer)
This falls in line with the rumor that one developer said we could expect Home between the 15th and 30th of this month, so that's encouraging. As for the other rumors regarding ever-changing weather patterns and currency, we haven't seen any official response to that just yet but then again...hey, it's Thanksgiving. We'll give 'em a break for a little while longer. But they had best come through on this promise, or they're gonna have a ton of extremely disappointed PS3 owners on their hands.

for me i was pumped for home, now that i'm in it really is boring and a let down to me. For something that keeps getting pulled back to be fixed and so on i found glitches, poor rendering, poor graphics
it to me was just a let down, looking at the simple cartoon avatars ms has pulled off look quite good, haven't had a go myself, but it just seems sony wanted to do something big when all we really needed was something small

Also, 3 or 4 days ago Ted himself said befores XMAS! Which is even better. He said on the EU forums, and i quote: "Everyone should be in home by christmas"

And also to the comment above, it might have glitches, but I thought graphically, it looked really good. It looks really clean and bright.

Anyway what I did observe was groups of people standing around chatting which was nice. I played 10pin bowling with a chap from Saudi Arabia and a guy from Sweden.
Gonna have to get the keyboard if I wanna continue chatting to people in there though as the controller is ok if a bit slow.
Be better once it is open though and everyone is in it.

Even in beta, it's a fun way to waste a few minutes. Last night I was waiting on a phone call and didn't have enough time to start playing an actual game, so I sat on a bench in the Central Plaza and just watched what everyone was doing, eventually being approached by an individual who insisted he was Jesus. Let's see the New Xbox Experience do THAT.
Not only that, but I'm excited about all the different avatar accessories they're going to be coming up with. If they have dynamic weather, then how about some umbrellas? Or winter coats? The possibilities are endless with this service, and it is something definitely worth being excited about.
