The Witcher: Rise Of The Wolf Confirmed For PS3, 360?

Third-party exclusives are getting increasingly rare, and this phenomenon includes the PC.

Last month, CD Projekt Red hinted there might be a console adaptation of The Witcher by saying- "There are a lot more places to explore in the world of The Witcher and there's obviously a huge audience out there that would still love to see the game on console...we're PC developers first and foremost, but you never know!" And now, a user-posted video over at GameTrailers shows an official developer diary of The Witcher: Rise of the Wolf, scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. CD Projekt Red won't confirm the video as truth, but it seems fairly obvious at this point; the trailer features cinematic game footage and one of the developers talks about the differences between the PC and console versions.

"The console version will look much better. [It] has a new engine with dynamic lighting, dynamic shadow, normal mapping, there's also new vegetation. In the console adaptation, enemy behavior will change a lot, there are new behaviors, new actions that can be performed by the enemies, the enemies will move much more dynamically."

He goes on to say that this console version will benefit from a "more dynamic and more engaging" combat mechanic, and we can also expect "hundreds of new mocap animations." Heh...remember the days when the console version couldn't look a fraction as good as the PC version? Well, those days are long gone and we're thankful for it; we'll keep you updated with more information regarding Rise of the Wolf as it becomes available. Could be a great one!
