IMDb Indicates Possible 2010 Release For God Of War III
Update: Spike TV will air the 2008 Video Game Awards on December 14, which is when we'll see the debut trailer for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and, as we've just found out, God of War III. Maybe an estimated launch date will come along with it...?
Original Story:
Up until the time an official source provides the media with a release date for a high-profile blockbuster game, everyone attempts to find hints or clues in every possible corner of the Internet. In the case of God of War III, someone at N4G must've recently checked the IMDb database on a whim.
As it turns out, we get the unfortunate evidence that GoWIII may not release until 2010. English actor T.C. Carson is handling the voice acting duties for Kratos in the game, and at his IMDb page, this gig is right at the top...with a release listing of 2010. Now, either they know something we don't - which we suppose is possible - or it's just an estimated placeholder date that doesn't mean anything. The most optimistic launch window we've seen is March 2009, which circulated immediately after Sony debuted the teaser trailer during their press conference at E3. But that seems more and more unlikely as time goes on, and this new source could be closer to accurate. Then again, Dave Jaffe got everyone all keyed up by saying he was completely blown away by seeing GoWIII in action, so it can't be too far off, right? Sony hasn't provided us with their best guess yet, so we'll just have to rely on these tidbits of info to keep the guessing game alive.
Anyway, we'll let you know as soon as we hear anything more concrete about a release date for God of War III, but I think I speak for all PS3 owners when I say, "please, oh please, make it sooner rather than later!"

Because this project is categorized as being in production, the data is subject to change; some data could be removed completely.
Though Michael Clarke Duncan as Atlas!!! YES!!!

God of War 1 had three years of development. God of War 2 had two years of development because their engine was in place. Now they have to make a new engine on a new system for God of War 3. It makes complete sense.
The last time I said this here I got, like, 3 thumbs down. Do you guys not like rational thinking or would you be so heart broken by waiting 3 years for a stellar game, rather than 2.5, that you would resort to thumbing down an intelligently thought out post in a desperate attempt to change something you cannot control?
By the way I'm just half joking in my previous paragraph. Thumb me down all you like. :)

Do not ruin a game "--could have been great otherwise"-- and make it just a mediore one by rushing it to get released. Such is my idea, quality is the most important in terms of big release. MGS4 for 3.5 years development is well justified by its quality once it is done.
