X-Play Reveals Killzone 2 Launch Date, Two New Weapons
We brought you our inside look at the Killzone 2 single-player campaign yesterday, and today, the big news continues to flow for Guerilla's hotly anticipated shooter.
X-Play just released an extended hands-on preview of their own that featured SCEA Managing Producer Kyle Shubel, and two big updates were featured: two new weapons and the official release date! The weapons are the Bolt Gun and the Flamethrower, both of which can be viewed in this new video. Those bad-ass weapons look sweet, and if you check out the second video there, that will give you the inside scoop on the online multiplayer. To top it all off, the launch date for Killzone 2 has been revealed as February 27, so make sure to circle that day on your calendars, fellow gamers. By now, you should be 100% convinced that this is a must-own title, and you have no excuse for passing on it. None of this, "hey, let's wait until it comes down in price" philosophy; that mindset is reserved for decent games, but not blockbuster masterpieces. And remember, our glowing preview is based on a 60% preview build, which means Guerilla could make the final product even more amazing.
The only problem we have now is...February 27 seems like such a long way away! After having had the benefit of testing the beta and preview build, we now have to wait over two and a half months for the final round of bliss? And now we can't run any more release date rumor stories for Killzone 2...bummer.

Where the show, however, is biased is their reviews of multiplat games. The majority of these reviews, in the on-screen graphics at the very begining, list the 360 as the game's console.
Even when they list the game as multiplat, during their "Review Roundup" where they recap the reviews for that episode or week (on Fridays), someone in the production booth puts up the 360 logo only. There is no indication the game is on the PS3 too.
The one exception was Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, which the show listed as a PS3 game on both ends of the review and in the "Review Roundup" segment. I was, needless to say, shocked. And they gave the game a good review too.
We wonder why the Xbots believe the PS3 doesn't have any games.

I love the humor on X-Play and Attack of the Show, though, and generally find their reviews fair.
BTW, you can also view a lot of their segments (esp. reviews) on their website (g4tvDOTcom) and in Podcasts on iTunes.
