Mirror's Edge DLC In January, Extra Time Trial Map For PS3

Mirror's Edge remains one of our favorite games of 2008, which is why we can't wait for the impending DLC next month. After the New Year, DICE will bring a special Time Trial Map Pack to both the PlayStation Store and Xbox Live Marketplace, with a special bonus for PS3 owners!

As found at the official PlayStation blog, the DLC will offer "nine races across seven all-new and totally redesigned Time Trial maps." And as the message says, you won't have to worry about any resistance on these surreal landscapes that are clearly heaven for the pure Runner. It's difficult to explain, so you really need to check out the trailer for the Time Trial Map Packs, which shows off several ingeniously designed levels that get our blood pumping. If you got a little tired of the trial-and-error repetition of the single-player campaign, and a little annoyed at the constant authority entanglements, this DLC is just for you. You will focus purely on Faith's speed, agility, and reflexes, which means you will have to memorize the correct/best path for each map before you can compete with the best. Oh, and PS3 owners get the benefit of an exclusive Time Trial map, absolutely free. Yay!

And if you haven't picked up Mirror's Edge yet - perhaps it's on your holiday wish list - this is a great excuse to nab it in January. Really, this is one of the more unique, refreshing, and entertaining titles of the new generation.

Yea I was looking that the Farcry 2 DLC and wondering is it really worth an extra 6th of a game ($10 to $60) just for two new vehicles and three new weapons? I mean seems really kinda a waste.

Admittedly, as stated before a few times here; I am not too keen on DLC content; I would say to people keep your cash and put it toward future full titled games. I feel strongly you can make better use of your cash by putting it toward some of the AAA titles coming out next year... you will get much more fun out of them then some extra maps and vehicles...

Think about it...

Go watch the video of this DLC it's crazy. It's like the developers made a bunch of extra levels but didn't feel like putting in textures or making it fit the landscape. It ends up being a bunch of colored boxes, poles, etc. set up so that there are (apparently) limitless ways to the finish line. Looks extremely sharp. Definitely will buy.

the best part of the game, is when your being chased. why aren't there multiplayer runner-chasing-runner levels? thats the DLC we need. the time trials are boring.

I played the demo over and over but I couldn't see myself splashing out £40/£50 for a 6 hour game. With this DLC I still don't want to spend all that money on it. I'll wait till I can get it on platinum I reakon. I mean I didn't buy Burnout until it went on the store and it cos only like £25 and DLC is still being pumped out for it!

This game is on my wish list, and if I get a PSN card (lol) if I have any money left over after buying Guitar Hero DLC, I'll pick this up.

I wonder if companies will start releasing games a year later with all the DLC included, I really hope so because I hate the idea of DLC succeeding, soon they'll start giving us half games and then we'll have to buy DLC to finish the game.
