PlayStation Home Open Beta Launches Tomorrow: Party Time!
No more rumors. No more speculation. No more debate, discussion or argument. PlayStation Home is coming...and it's coming tomorrow.
That's right, Home director Jack Buser made the long-anticipated announcement over at the official PlayStation blog, which means Sony's constant insistence that the open beta would launch this year finally rings true. And as for all you PlayStation 3 owners out there, prepare for the virtual world that is merely in its infancy stages but will continue to grow in the years to come. The open beta will be available to all tomorrow, and if you didn't get a chance to sample the closed test, you'll want to spend a little while experimenting. There's a brief tutorial to help you get your feet wet, and from there on out, you can do everything from flexing your interior decorating muscle to hanging out with friends at your favorite club. As Buser says in the post, there's always something going on, and that includes parties, tournaments and other events. To keep up-to-date on scheduled events, make sure to frequent the PlayStation Home forums, where you can also expand your social ring.
Many of the top publishers in the industry are already on-board with Home, and that includes EA, Activision, Disney, THQ, Paramount, and Ubisoft, so of course, you will plenty of trailers, previews and ads in the Central Plaza (and elsewhere). As for that Plaza, closed beta testers may be surprised to see that it has been redesigned; Buser says they've made "major upgrades as a result of your community feedback," so don't think they weren't listening! They've added a 4-player mini-game called "Saucer Pop," and there are some changes to the Listen@Home feature. As Buser says, "Now, you'll be able to select from a number of songs and vote on your favorites." There's more - oh yes, lot's more - but the time for talking and typing is over. Get in there tomorrow and check it out for yourselves!
Home...is...HERE!

He has a legitimate question, and I'm sure Ben and Arnold would not approve of you bashing uninformed users. That is why this site exists, to inform the uninformed, right?
Anyways,
There is going to be and in-"Home" money system that will be used to purchase things like new clothes for your avatar and new furniture, paintings, electronics, etc. for your home within "Home". Currently, in the closed beta which I am a member of, there is no "job-system" yet and every thing costs nothing at this time. As far as I have read online, there are not any definite plans on how this money will be obtained. There are some rumors going around that it will be trophy based, each trophy being worth a set amount. This is only a rumor and I'm not claiming it is anything more than that, a rumor.
Dante399,
As for the answer to your question, I do not know what Sony's long term plans for the money system are but I would be interested to know if anyone else has any more info on the subject. However, I do doubt that they will put in a job system. It would just end up being to much like the Sims online game and may even infringe on some sort of copyright, but I'm not sure about the copyright thing. I’m a gamer not a lawyer.

And second any "job system" would support theoretical money...but if you could somehow save enough...maybe you could invest in education...
I think it might be a good choice for you...

Do anybody know how they are gonna keep all these "homers" in home without everybody walking around like herrings in a barrel?
Are we gonna have like 5 "worlds" were we spawn randomly?
But what if we have set up a meeting but spawn in two different worlds?? :O
Or is home big enough to keep everybody without people bumping into each other and stuff?

what i would do is make an account saying that you are from the US. The reason I suggest the US is because it is announced for us now and sometimes we get the demos before you guys in Europe. I have 4 accounts: 2 US accounts, 1 European account, and 1 Japanese account. Its cool even if you cant read them, but you can understand the pictures and the little blue ovals "free". Japan gets demos before us and you guys get stuff that we cant get for awhile. I have not tried to buy stuff using American funds on the different stores, but if anyone knows anything about converting over Dollars to Euros or Dollars to Yen please let me know...
