Turtle Beach Presents Ear Force PX1 Headset For PlayStation 3

We just received the official Sony PlayStation 3 Bluetooth wireless headset via SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation, but perhaps you enjoy playing your games late at night. And although you still need to moderate your voice levels, you can keep the explosions and weapon fire on the screen hidden from anyone else in the vicinity.

Turtle Beach has revealed the Ear Force PX1 Headset, designed specifically for use with the PlayStation 3. This quality headset allows you to chat online with friends without the game's action disturbing those you live with (or your neighbors, if you really pump the volume), and it features a special Audio Advantage Amigo USB sound card "for reliable and clear online chat." Xbox 360 owners have already had the option of the X-series of headphones, but now it's time to bring PS3 owners into the fold. You get an extra-long 16-foot cable, too, so there's no need to glue your sensitive eyes to the big screen. And although this is for the PS3, it's also compatible with both the Xbox 360 and PC, so just about all gamers now have the option of upgrading their online experience without adversely affecting anyone around them. Now, provided you can keep your screams of frustration from piercing the silent night air at 2 a.m. - yeah, we know, whoever nailed you cheats, right? - the Ear Force PX1 headset should be your new best friend.

Feel free to check this bad boy out at the Turtle Beach website, where you can also peruse the other fine products they have on display. Avid online gamers; this stuff is for you.

These accessories they've come out with the past few months are so damn pricey. Sure this headset and the one that comes with SOCOM and the controller keypad are nice, but damn. I bought a regular keyboard and a jabra bluetooth for $20 each, and they work great. Although the AAAA batteries (yes 4 As) for the jabra are so hard to find.

How is it for the PS3? Do other ones not work with the ps3, or does it have some special features?

The picture from the website is confusing. They make it seem like it is wireless.

I don't need to keep my explosions down so I'll pass. Still it would be funny for a passer-by to hear me yelling at my TV with no accompanied explosion or death sound. It's all quiet and then "You son of a b*tch you f*ckin killed me for the last goddamn time, you-you cheater!"

LOL....that's me all over. My wife loves to hear me yelling like this after she's been asleep for a couple hours. Except the price this could be right for me.

I think it is wireless, you just need the extra-long cable for charging.

The Socom headset tends to come in a little low for me...I like to have my surround sound up pretty good and it drowns out the earpiece. I wish it had the design of my Bose ear buds, comfortable and sound isolating.

I'm confused, Turtle beach headphones all work through any normal headphone jacks. The only difference is the 360 ones could connect a mike into the controller..

So how does this do that? Through the USB Stick or through the controller..?

I have the Ear Force X1 for PC/XBox 360 that I use for my PC and they're awesome. After I got them, I thought 'It would be perfect if I could use these with my PS3 as well.'

Well, guess I might have to upgrade now and sell my other pair to my friend or something.

Well, guess all I need is that Amigo USB sound card. Sweetness!
