Free Resistance 2, Fall Of Man Content Hits PSN Today
Resistance 2 is easily one of the year's best, but if you think Insomniac is taking a well-deserved break after launching the game in early November, think again. The downloadable content is on the way!
According to a recent post made over at the official PlayStation blog by Insomniac community manager Bryan Intihar, the team is preparing a series of updates and patches for R2, plus more additions to MyResistance.net. What you see here is one of the new PS3 Themes they'll have ready for you - the blog shows more - so check out the multiple wallpapers like "Man vs. Chimera" today on the PlayStation Store. They're also not neglecting R2's predecessor, as the map packs for Resistance: Fall of Man are now free on the Store, which means you no longer have any excuse for passing on them. As of today, both available map packs are absolutely free, and for other free stuff, you can also download a new R2 trailer, which apparently is Intihar's favorite. With its awesome single-player campaign and unparalleled 60-player online competitive mode (plus 8-player co-op mode), Resistance 2 is a must for any PS3 owner, and with extra content on the way, it's even more alluring.
We'll let you know when Insomniac plans to release the new patch for the game; we get the feeling it'll be some time early next month, though. You know there's plenty more that can be done, and that's exactly what DLC is for!

Now before anyone says it got 9.5 or whatever it got all over the place. Just becuase a game gets high markings does not mean it is going to appeal to everyone. Now myself and my mate have decided that it was a good game yeah, but he pointed out to me about the pixelated water, maybe this can be fixed in a patch. I didnt look to see if the water was pixelated.
I did enjoy playing it but thought after completing it all the hype, plus the end boss Datalist or whatever the name of the big thing with tentacles was I found too easy and killed the thing on the first try.
Now im not saying Ben's review was bad it was a damn good review and made me want to get the game even more, plus I was buying it anyway after playing the first one but I dunno once I had completed it I felt something like is that it, maybe it is because they have left me wanting more ie the 3rd one.
I will get the 3rd one and hopefully I wont feel like this next time.

In reality, R2 didn't really bring anything new to the table. While it was a fun and entertaining experience, I can't see myself playing online competitive any longer. I know for a fact, though, that I will be playing coop for awhile, due to it being 'new' for consoles.
And I've played so many FPSs that now I'm beginning to become more critical and picky when it comes to the genre. This goes for CoD, Halo, and Unreal as well.
That being said, I really hope K2 is enough to get me back in. I've heard so many great things about it, so who knows.
