LittleBigPlanet Tops 1 Million Sold?
While it remains true that LittleBigPlanet isn't selling quite as quickly as Sony would've liked, it's still climbing up the charts...slowly but surely.
According to European site PS3Hype, the little platformer that could has topped 1 million copies sold worldwide. Please bear in mind that this information is in no way official, but based on recent sales statistics, it should be close (if not dead-on accurate). They list out the LBP sales on a week-to-week basis for all three major territories, and the results prove the final platinum number. Oddly enough, the game is really doing terribly in Japan, while it seems the U.S. and Europe equally appreciate Media Molecule's effort. Perhaps this isn't the type of title to appeal to the Japanese market, but then again, maybe it just needs more time to gather steam. Remember, although it released between the last week of October and the first week of November worldwide, Sony only recently kicked-off the massive marketing campaign. How come we saw the first LBP commercial only a few days ago...? Oh right, because it's Sony's marketing and advertising that remains untimely and lackluster, regardless of the software or hardware. Kinda depressing, but whatever.
Even so, it seems LBP should continue to be a success. It may not be the blockbuster skyrocketing success Sony was hoping for, but if the million mark has indeed been passed, they can still look forward to the future with bright eyes. This is a game that should never be out-of-date, what with its emphasis on the PSN community, so unlike other games, sales of LittleBigPlanet shouldn't die off completely.

If the bias stems from the "cuteness" factor or just because its on a different system, they should be immediately forced to turn in their Gamer Cards and go sit in a corner to think about what they've done.

The levels made by Media Molecule are not short. If u r trying to run though the game...than the game is quick about (8-10hrs). But u will play stages a least twice(16-20hrs), because u can't collect all the items and get 100% complete in one play-through.
Rent it and see how u like it.

Not only are the provided levels of decent length, they are some of the most imaginative levels I've ever played. And yes, it takes several playthroughs to get every thing, though in some cases it also requires more than one player, but that's part of the fun, figuring out the mulitplayer puzzles. Also consider this, playing through the levels again, is NEVER a chore, its fun everytime.
Then on top of the first class single player game, you are provided the tools to make just about anything your brain can think up. Your levels plus other people's created levels gives this game nearly unlimited replayability. I'm serious when I say that no other game out there can match it for creativity and quirky fun.
If you're a fan of platformers as you claim, you owe it to yourself to check it out. We'll see you online!

Oh, wait ... you can't because your 360 has the RROD.
Either that or you beat Gears 2 and Left 4 Dead and have no exclusives left to play.
Listen, I'll loan you my 360 until you get yours replaced if it means you leave and never come back!
