Rumors: Street Fighters For PSN, Bioshock 2 Debuts On PS3?

If you're not familiar with HipHopGamer yet, you may want to tune in for a few episodes; the latest just lifted the lid on several rumors that are bound to garner plenty of attention.

The newest video mentions Capcom preparing to put both Street Fighter World Warrior and Street Fighter Championship Edition on their special space on the PSN, which is great news for fighting fans. As for our analysis of the rumor, with Street Fighter IV coming up in February and Capcom dedicating some time and effort to that allotted space on the Store, we figure it's quite possible. The second rumor is bigger, and will certainly get the PS3 and Xbox 360 loyalists all riled up once again: the rumor is that 2K will bring Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams to the PS3 first, while it will release on the 360 a little later. As you all know, the first Bioshock debuted exclusively on the 360 in 2007 and didn't reach the PS3 until a few months ago, due to that deal the publisher struck with Microsoft. So could this be Sony nailing down a bit of revenge? To add more fuel to the fire, the sequel apparently popped up on 2K's 2009 schedule, and they didn't assign targeted platforms; it just says "TBA."

But we're calling bogus on this one. Sony's policy of never paying for third-party exclusives hasn't wavered in the slightest, and the publisher has absolutely no reason whatsoever to delay the 360 version of the game. The only explanation may be that 2K decided to develop Bioshock 2 on the PS3 first, thereby resulting in a 360 port, and this may start happening very soon with some developers. But even so...we're not buying it. We know we can't stop the speculation, though.

Be great if they utilize the PS3 power then down it for the X360. If they built the PS3 version 1st then port it.But coming from a 3rd party we'll prolly wont see this anytime soon,if ever.

I agree. imagine how great GTA4 could've been if Rockstar didn't have to accommodate to the 360's specs with the storage capacity and how much better the game could've looked with a stronger graphic engine. it pissed me off on how much they had to pull back on GTA4, san andreas is still better than 4 to some degree.

but back on topic, yes, just about any game that was built from the ground up for the ps3 would equal nothing but high quality. except for a few games of course.

nonetheless, bioshock 2 will still look amazing.

Personally, let the 360 have some of its own medicine, they'll still be getting Bioshock 2, but more around 2010 lets see how they like waiting almost a whole yr, too bad this won't happen though, 2K needs the money right now, that's the only reason why its not gonna be held back for too long if it does release on the ps3 first

pfft. Capcom still havent released the Australin PAL version of SFIIHD on PSN yet. No doubt we'll get screwed over again with the release of these other SF games.
I wont get any of them now but just wait till SFIV comes out in Feb.
Bad by Capcom cause I would have bought them all if they were release 6mths ago.

Either way that is just sh*tty buisness practice. I hate it all this low-blow crap which started with a entry of a certain (M)$omeone and I hate it. The civility of gamers has also died along with it.

Make the best F-ing game you can don't short one console because of the others' shortcomings and optimize it for each. They get piles of cash, that is the least they can do.

Yeah this timed-exclusivity crap gets on my nerves. Yes, there is no doubt in my mind that Sony wouldn't pull such a crap move on gamers, but if they did, I would be pissed. I hate MS doing it now and if Sony followed suit, then it'll just be back and forth.. ugh!

Well i watched the hiphopgamer videos about him. even though im from nyc myself, i didnt see anything special about him at all.

looked thru his blog and honestly seeing the same info i could find the places i already do, plus all that other stuff that had nothing to do with gaming.

I just downloaded Bioshock for PC,but it won't start up.It's a damn security-concious VISTA machine.Does anybody know how to make games run on Vista????????????????

Hey www.dot.com, there is this thing called the UAC which is blocking you. So you are going to have to right click the .exe file of bioshock and go to properties, then compatibility, then check Run this program as administrator. I have a question is it a torrent, if so then you probably need to read the directions on how to get it working from were ever you downloaded it from. But if it is not a torrent, then just do those steps I told you.

HA! I had to check this out. My friend told me about people so obsessed with the xbox that they patrol PS sites. I'm sure some PS users must be the same but this is so funny to actually see. He actually has a pic of his xbox LOL! This made my day : ) I love it!

@ JoshuaAdam360 - I didn't buy Mirror's Edge for the Exclusive stuff that's coming to PS3, I didn't buy TR Underworld for the Exclusive stuff going to 360, I will not get any game that caters to the timed exclusive ploy. It's a ridiculous and frustrating strategy that developers and platform holders are playing with, and it's only making me reject their games out of principle. Go for it, I say, easier for me to determine where my money should be going.

@ Loopid - It's not necessarily that they troll these sites, the problem is, if you search in google news for 'PS3' or '360', most of these articles all pop up because...well...you can't have a single PS3 or 360 or Wii article, that doesn't mention the other consoles. So, what ends up happening is someone searching for news on their platform of choice, gets an article from google (or whatever site), such as this, they take a look and have to chime in. Not necessarily trolls, just people who're bored as hell, trying to pass the time.

the way i see it, xbox360 is a last gen console compared to the ps3, so it does not matter if the game is made especifically for the 360 or ported from ps3 the 360 wont see a difference.
so i say make it especifically for ps3 then port it for the 360 and have them released the same day. is win/win situation for all..

there's no reason why they would release it on a ps3 first, than port to 360. it doesn't make sense. but even if they do release on ps3 first, it wont take long for the 360 version to appear kinda like unreal tournament.

but sometimes multiplatform games shows up on ps3 first but it doesnt take a year for it to show up on a 360.

Well, if one (version of the) game has to come out before the other for development issues I'd rather see a finished game than have the privilege of playing it early on my PS3. As far as "revenge" goes, that's just silly. Sure it's annoying to read comments to the tune of the PS3 getting "reheated x-box leftovers" and the like, but the fact is Bioshock was an awesome game whether you played it on the ps or the x-box. I'm just happy they decided on the PS3 development at all so I had a chance to play it.

I love my game systems, always have and always will, but I doubt I will ever understand the need to bash systems based solely on the fact that I don't have one.

I agree with Josh, if you complain about m$ pulling that type of crap then you shouldn't condone the behavior in sony (though I must disagree about the blu-ray).

I think im one of the very few who drifted off into sleep while playing bioshock, still,having it release on both consoles instead of a year old port is'nt a bad thing.Then again we showed 2k that we can still buy year old games so either way would work.

it will be interesting to see bioshock 2 being a timed-exclusive, first on ps3 then on xbox 360 later.. if that happens, it will be a big blow to microsoft considering they don't have that much exclusives compared to sony's ps3 for 2009.

I want to know what ever happened to multiplat games being released on both systems the same day. All this exclusive crap is just stupid. All it's doing is show some console owners that they are favored over the other console owners. Atleast that's my opinion on the matter.

Is it just me, or is it that not many games contain cheat codes anymore?
Like what happened to games like GTA: San Andreas?
I still remember the Weapon cheats. R1, R2, L1, R2, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up.

What happened to the good old days? Where the developers put cheat codes into the game?
I don't like the GTA 4 cheat code engine. As you have to remember all of these numbers then dial them into the phone. It's dumb!

Has anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me?

I feel you man. I like to play through games without cheats first. But after that (especially with GTA games) I will go screw around with the cheats. It's hard to pull out your cell phone when you are getting shot.
