Home Central Plaza Getting Winter And Holiday Treatment?

If you take a gander at the picture here, this PlayStation Home user is walkin' in a winter wonder-...

Yeah, you get it. According to PlayStation Asia, there's a new update out for Home that covers the Central Plaza in a very pretty coating of freshly fallen snow. They even put a huge Christmas tree right in the middle of the square, so the whole place has an authentic holiday atmosphere. Of course, the Plaza will return to its normal look after the holidays are over so this will only be available for a limited time. We're also not sure if this White Christmas update will be available for North America and Europe; we'd like to assume it's coming, but it seems a little late...doesn't it? On the other hand, the Asian PlayStation site was the first to break the news on the MGS4-themed downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet, and then it appeared on the official PlayStation blog a few days later. So perhaps they know what they're talking about, but we've seen nothing from SCEA or SCEE. This could be a simple unannounced update that just pops up as a late holiday gift to Home users, or it may not be available anywhere but in Asia. Who knows?

Well, keep checking in with Home throughout the day to see if the Central Plaza suddenly gets that wintry look. If Sony has anything to say about it, we'll be sure to let you know.

sounds cool but i unfortunatley dont go in home all that much right now, bin to busy with SOCOM. i have a small side story here thats kinda off subject but i have to see what you guys say. my buddy gave me a copy of farcry2 cause he went out and bought another copy cause he was convinced that the game was messed up somehow and ill tell you what the deal was, oh and i laughed my butt of when i seen it to. for some unexplained reason when he was in a mission and one of his buddys in the game needed help he would go over give them a shot and right after they got up they killed him. does anybody know why that happens? i thought it was funny and it has never happened to me but im just curious. i wish you coulda seen it, his buddy got up and popped him twice with the shotty, its bin awhile since i laughed that hard lol.

Hi!

Long time reader, first time poster.

The winter theme in Home sounds fun, although I don't really care too much for the whole "Home experience". It is pretty much Second Life for PS3.

Um wow this is late on the posting. That xmas effect has been in the JP home area since 1.04 update, i believe. I know it's been there for awhile cuz all us NA users have been complaining about it on the US playstation home forums.

LOL maybe they can add a santa clause in there on Christmas Eve to chat w/ and play against. Then they could have a playstation home Easter egg hunt during easter and the avator that finds the most eggs wins a new LCD to go in their virtual apartment #D. What will they think of next?

Virtual snow = yes real snow is a big no no lol. So I am all for it :)
My mate paid 29p for a model plane for his table for his place lol.

Home has taken a hugh step backwards with the new voice chat update. Bad move Sony. If you can't tell already by post in many recent forums, home has and will continually be losing more people as well as interest due to this now limited feature which was great.

Im new!!!

oh well hi well HOME had problems at the start but look at how hard they worked and if you did get in at first it was great. graphics are funny and annoying people dont come and dance up ur arss. now its fixed and i neva get 2 play pool or bowl
