L.A. Noire Still Shrouded In Mystery
You know, this is one of those cases where the real-life situation is beginning to reflect the concept and style of the game itself.
After Take-Two released their fourth-quarter results - which showed a $15 million loss despite a dramatic increase in sales - they moved on to reveal their 2009 lineup. Bioshock 2 was on there, of course, but without any targeted platforms, the rumors are starting to fly... We do know that PlayStation 3 software comprised the majority of Take-Two sales so this adds fuel to an already raging fire, but here's another little highlight (or non-highlight): L.A. Noire is mysteriously absent from Take-Two's 2009 schedule. The publisher is supposed to handle the new Rockstar project, but with no mention of it anywhere, we're starting to hear whispers of "vaporware" around the Internet. An update on the title's progress would be appreciated, but we obviously won't get it from Take-Two; perhaps Rockstar can enlighten us in early 2009. We always thought L.A. Noire was a very promising project, and we had hoped to get the first official details before 2008 was over.
Unfortunately, we're left completely in the dark for the time being. If we hear anything, we'll be sure to let you know, but in the meantime, revel in the greatness of other anticipated 2009 titles. Yeah, you know what they are.
