Cipher Complex Still In The Works
Way back in late 2006, we brought you the first details of Cipher Complex, the promising stealth/action title with intriguing and unique fantasy elements. But since then, Edge of Reality hasn't issued much of anything in regards to the game, which made us worry...
Good news, though. According to PS3Center.net, the developer's Binu Phillip has confirmed that Cipher Complex is indeed still in the works. Phillip is no longer with the team - evidently, he has moved on to a larger development studio - said Edge of Reality is "still being worked on" but they don't have anything new to add for the time being. Even so, he did hint that the "wait is almost over," so we're going to keep an eye out for new info over the next few months. This is Edge of Reality's first really huge title that could pique every next-gen gamer's interest, and if they can deliver on this ambitious project, we should be more than satisfied with the results. If you recall, although Cipher Complex is technically a stealth title that follows in the footsteps of the two huge Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell franchises, the team is attempting to speed things up and add several new elements. Basically, their intention is to provide gamers with an all new experience, and whenever a developer tries that, we have to applaud the risk.
Anyway, as soon as we hear more about this one, we'll be sure to let you know about it. If they bring it out in 2009, we may have to toss it onto our "most-anticipated" list...

And I uh... noticed a typo in the original preview. In the 5th paragraph, 2nd to last sentence, it says "off the cost of Siberia" it should say "off the coast". Yeah I know a little late to find a typo in a 2-year-old preview, but, hey what the hell.
