Digi-Guys Announces WarDevil Chronicles For PlayStation 3

Your first New Year's gift comes from Digi-Guys, the team responsible for the upcoming action extravaganza, WarDevil.

They have announced a special side project that coincides with the promising title, and it's called "Wardevil Chronicles." According to PSU, this is a Cartoon/Anime that will debut several characters and situations "throughout the life of the main WarDevil project." We have one picture here but if you want to see a great teaser trailer (worth watching!), head on over to the special Chronicles site. It's a very cool concept, and clearly designed specifically for those who are big fans of such an art style. Said one Digi-Guys representative:

"We may do more - and expand the Project in many ways, as we've had great fun creating the 2D style - it's designed to be very different to the high-end/CG look of the main Project."

Now, as far as we know, WarDevil is exclusive to the PlayStation 3; most sources we find still say it was canceled for the Xbox 360. Therefore, this could be yet another PS3-only title for 2009 that sits high on the priority list for many owners of Sony's next-gen machine. Having little off-shoots like this 2D cartoon series is something we may see more of, too; it can really appeal to the target demographic. Stay tuned for more WarDevil news as it becomes available.

I like I like
Looks very dark-ish and interesting.

The fact that it plays in 2D fashion is such a plus.

If LBP can be fun in 2D fashion so can this game.
Ah another exclusive, great stuff.

OK I just read up on this it looks like WarDevil is actually a game, a CGI movie, and now this 2d thing.

The games are supposed to be a 3D hack and slash adventure kind of game similar to Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, or God of War. There is also supposed to be a feature length CGI movie in the same style as the game.

It looks interesting I'll have to keep an eye out for it.

EDIT: Apparently your main weapon is the same kind of arm-blade thing altair uses in Assassin's Creed. And the game might end up having a sub-title. Many of the videos have the title WarDevil: Unleash the Beast Within.
