Ceramic White PS3 For U.S. In 2009?

The PlayStation 3 has only been available in black and special gun-metal gray for the release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but how would you feel about a nifty white unit? They already have it in Japan, but according to CrunchGear, they checked some recent FCC filings and found that there's a distinct possibility that Sony will add the new color to their PS3 palette for North America. You'll even be able to find plenty of photos and screenshots, too, but Sony Computer Entertainment still won't confirm anything. Said SCEA's Alex Armour:
"There are many FCC filings like this each year. We haven’t made any announcements about upcoming PS3 plans, but are comfortable with our current two SKU strategy. We are continually evaluating the market trends and consumer input to determine the appropriate PS3 models for our territory."
As far as we're concerned, it has a good shot of happening. It can't possibly cost too much from a manufacturing standpoint, and it's always nice to have color options. We're not about to mull over the color of our console for an extended period of time - we're not women - but being able to pick between a couple colors is a definite bonus. And of course, Sony never announces anything until they're "ready to announce it," so we'll just have to leave this at rumor and speculation for now. We still think it's a good idea, though.
Disclaimer: No offense meant with that "we're not women" comment. But if you think about it, it's almost more flattering than insulting. ;)

Wasn't Sony suppose to sell multi-colored PS3s? I remember seeing pictures of a Black one, a Silver one, a Blue one, and a Red one...before the PS3 even came out.
If Sony comes out with different colored systems...they'll blow the 360 outta the water next year!!!!

Now, as for making them in either a metallic red or the blue one that the contest winner's got, I'd be happy to have that choice(matter of fact, if they make me a winner for the blue one, I'd be VERY HAPPY, LOL!!!!!)
Anyways, I always knew the FCC was a extremely anal agency, but why would anyone have to do a FFC filing just for a color change on a plastic casing???
WTF???? That's like the health dept saying McDonald's workers have to have their permission to drive "hamburgermeat brown" cars before being OK'ed to work there!

The black ps3 is deadly and looks super shiny and awesome.
But a white ps3 would be just as beautiful.
Black, white, and grey, best three colors for consoles, period.
