Final Fantasy XIII Ad Spotted In Japanese PlayStation Home
Well, even though it's not a worldwide advertisement, at least it's somewhat encouraging.
According to FinalFantasyXIII.net, Japanese PlayStation Home users will find two new changes to the Central Plaza: there's a very pleasant wintry scene now, and perhaps even more intriguing is the ad for Final Fantasy XIII which pops up in a News Report video that plays in the square. Now, the footage is indeed old, but there are two positives to this detail: 1. it proves that third-party titles are getting recognition in Home, and 2. we'd like to think that ads for games can't release until the team is at a certain point in development. We know FFXIII is still a ways off, but perhaps we'll start seeing ads in other locations as well, and we'd have to assume that a release date (at least for Japan) will be soon to follow. Apparently, other ads were found in the revamped Home, too, and that includes Resident Evil 5, Yakuza 3 and "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children Complete." In case you had already forgotten, that's the special re-release of the CGI movie on Blu-Ray, with all sorts of nifty extras. You know you want it; it should arrive in March.
Anyway, here's hoping we find more release information for FFXIII soon, and we'd also like to see some newer gameplay footage at some point. In the meantime, you can always drool over this DKS3713 trailer. Oh, so lovely...
