Rumor: Perfect Scores For Killzone 2 And Street Fighter IV In OPM

Unless you've been living under a rock (on Mars), you're well aware of the impending February 28 launch of Killzone 2, and you've already seen and processed all the hype. We brought you a hands-on preview of an early single-player build we received, and obviously, you know our feelings on the matter...

Killzone 2 will redefine the very nature of the FPS. We're not the only source to issue such bold statements, and now, it seems as if the very first review has been leaked. Apparently, a German source has discovered the scores in a future edition of the Official PlayStation Magazine, and Guerilla's masterpiece brought down a perfect 5/5 score. Furthermore, Street Fighter IV is also reviewed, and that too gets a 5/5. Now, we haven't the slightest idea how a European source supposedly saw the leaked review scores of the American OPM, but given the games in question, it does sound plausible. For fighting fans, SFIV is actually higher on their priority list than KZ2, but it appears as if both titles will be must-haves in a few months time. Based purely on the evidence we've seen so far, we can conclude that a 5/5 score for these games is likely. The other reason it's plausible is because we know that several publications already have the final review build in their possession. ...just trust us on that.

But anyway, over the next month or so, you're probably going to hear a lot about Killzone 2 review scores - some supposed some leaked and confirmed - and it's an interesting look at the showers before the storm. Because after the review embargo lifts, the scores will come in torrents...

KZ2 for me

SF4 and RE5 are garbage multiplat games

PSXEXTREME will give KZ2 - 10/10

and SF4 - 8/10

KZ2 is the GOD OF ALL FPS

well, as great as they both are, KZ2 will have to wait on my list. i mean its an awesome looking game but, SFIV is just more important to me. main reason being because i need a good fighting game. there are no good next-gen fighting games out there. if there were, i'd have KZ2 reserved instead.

dude what are you smoking?? i LOVE resistance 2, it totally rocks. i have VERY few complaints about that game and in fact the only complaint i can come up with is how many rounds it takes to kill someone online, other than that i love it. ill take bens word for it, im lookin forward to this game like none other at the moment.

metalhead, he didnt like how the game looked amongst other things. Fabi, the main difference with this title is its not just the guys here at psxetreme harping on it, its gained quite a bit of praise from all over. That beta was f**king sweet.

for those who were not impressed with R2's visuals and were hoping it would rival Gears 2, this is something you dont want to miss, hands down the best looking game on console, period. to top it all off, the gameplay is just as sweet

Alright one thing is for sure about KZ 2. The graphics are beautiful - really nicely done, the environment looks like a warzone, it's intense meaning there's bullet flying everywhere and you don't know where, the lighting effects are absolutely superb and the physics are pretty good. The ragdolls are overdone in my opinion but not as terrible as LARA CROFT ones (thank god).

But then again it is OPM. I know the staff of OPM pretty well since I've been reading their magazine for quite some time ever since PSM and there hasn't been any fanboyism. However their rating is out of 5 making it a little more...general than specific. I mean really a 5/5 could be a 9/10 or 8.7/10. A 4/5 is supposed to mean 8/10 but could mean 7.5/10. I don't know it's just that I like the "out of 10" rating better such as on IGN and stuff. Out of 100 is pretty much the same thing, since 96 is basically 9.6/10.

IGN so far previewed it and they looked like they were enjoying themselves. There sure is a variety of weapons in that game and the campaign mode looks like it might be solid. That's good so far but however it then comes down to Multiplayer. In multiplayer I haven't seen any watered-down graphics. It is a 32 player match which is good. However there's no split-screen meaning no co-op. That kind of is a downfall there since most FPS games have the feature of co-op. Oh well...let's see. In fact there were some people who had a hands-on with the Multiplayer Beta we would really have to ask them how it was.

As for Street Fighter IV - it's honestly a classic, of course it will get a perfect score by them.

they mentioned a patch that is suppose to come out for the game as soon as it releases that supports co op, not sure if its for online only though.

Im of the opinion that doesn't care for split screen co op, its an old tool used before online gameplay and should go the way of the dodo birds. Just my opinion though

As for as multiplayer beta is concerned, i had a blast with it. There are things that i hope gets better before release but thats what a beta is for. More along complaints with the controls ( clicked zoom instead of hold zoom in )

Well OPM always gives PS3 exclusives a great score. But I probably will get KZ2 if it gets a lot of good reviews. But the first one was a disaster. There has never been a game that sucked then it's sequel went on to be one of the best games ever. Besides there are a lot of other games coming out around then I'll get like Halo Wars and Resistance Retribution.

Actually Halo got great reviews and went on to be the most successful entertainment launch in history until GTAIV. Also I asked at a gamestop and they said they've been getting more reservations for halo wars than KZ2.

The Beta (1st build of the game, about 35-45% done) was damn near perfect. So, to me, Killzone 2 (the finished product) deserves a 6/5.

How long do have wait for the 2nd greatest game ever made.

After playing Burst limit & MK vs DC which were piss poor. Fighting Games to me as ultimately failed due to content this gen. Hopefully Street Fighter IV is enjoyable and lasts months

I was fortunate enough to play the TokyoGameShow build of Street Figher IV, the one which had Sakura in it.

I can tell you this game will take the fighting genre to the top!

I just can't wait to get it, I have the Collector's Edition pre-ordered and all.

Killzone2 will be amazing, one of those games which are NOT just games, but art. It has passed the line between being just a game and into being gaming art. Can't wait.

Well even tho im really hyped for sonys excellent exclusives this year, which i probably get them all if they are all released im more hyped up for RE5, not intrested in SFIV, not even bothered about halo wars, i dont lik RTS games, dont get me wrong but i like the xbox 360 but nothing interests me on it thats been annouced for this year, if they come up with something spectacular then i maybe take the plunge but Alan Wake doesn't interest me neither does splinter cell conviction, just shows how awesome sonys line up is compared to microsofts this year.

I'm am all about the Tekken 6 beezle.. I can't wait to have JACK vs NANCY matches! Also the fact that they named the final boss Azazel is kvlt!!! (can't wait to see how he looks like)

If halo wars even sells well it will purely be due to xbot syndrome mutating into something worse than an std(xtd-xbox transmited deseas). To halo is a stupid fps set in a stupid universe with a stupid story and would be suprised if half the halo fans jump on this rts rendition which is not a selling genre. I think m$ will testing the effect of the xbox syndrome with halo wars and if it flies i dont what we will be seing next. I just like to announce that i am a psbot when it comes to collecting ps exclusive titles i just want them all if their not my of my prefered taste i wait i get them second hand or budget price. I also respect all good multiplat titles.

Street Fighter IV is alright. It's not really as exciting as the older ones. It also takes the Alpha button layout which isn't as good as the origional. I would say OPM gave Killzone 2 5/5 because they just want to market it. I know it will be good, but could it really stand up to other great games of 2008?

Uh. Street Fighter has had the same button layout since Street Fighter in 1987. The only thing they've changed is the pressure system to the six button layout in later versions of the SF arcade which they used again for Street Fighter II and *every* subsequent Street Fighter game (CE, Turbo, Super, Super Turbo, Alpha, Alpha 2, Alpha 3, SFIII, 2nd Impact, 3rd Strike, and both EX games).

So... what're you talking about?

Well RE5 better step their game up for Deadspace makes RE5 looks like garbade to me But Killzone 2 is taking forever, Killzone one suck like i dont no what but just seeing actually gameplay of KZ2 just turned me into a believer LOL! not really it is just a gorgeous/luscious title that is going to be legendary! and if the Online is better or even better than CoD 4/WAW then im sold!

Well i didnt get into the BETA so all I can go on is youtube videos and what you guys say..
So..
I think KZ2 looks like a darker COD.Thats all i can see from the videos.

But from what you guys say it seems to be so much more then that...so im hopefull!!

As for SFIV should be sweet enough too but KZ2 will be hogging my attention first anyway!!

@ Sparten, there probably is more pre orders 4 it 1; There isnt many other exclusives comin 2 the 360 2; Seems 2 me & everyone else that Gamestop is just a place 4 360 fanboys 2 hang out & take the piss out of the ps3.
