New PS3 Exclusive To Be Revealed Within Next Few Weeks

By now, you should be well aware of the list of 2009 PlayStation 3 exclusives that has the potential to dominate the competition. Led by the likes of Killzone 2, God of War III and Gran Turismo 5, everyone has high expectations for PS3 software this year.

But we haven't completed the list just yet. As you can see by this scan from the Dutch Official PlayStation Magazine, Sony is prepared to announce a brand new PS3 exclusive within the next few weeks. We have no information on it at this time, but it seems as if OPM will visit Los Angeles so they can feature the game in the next issue. Now, we're aware of projects like Infamous, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and Heavy Rain, but what is the huge PS3 exclusive that we don't already know about...? Well, we'd like to assume it's Team ICO's currently unrevealed title that most Sony fans have been eagerly anticipating for well over a year. Many theories have crisscrossed the Internet; some believe we may see a direct sequel to Shadow of the Colossus while others think we may see something entirely new. At last check, we heard that Team ICO had a few titles in development and both of them were PS3 exclusives; isn't it about time that we heard about one of them? The debate will rage, but we've got our money on the talented studio in question.

On the other hand, it may be a game that was initially slated as a multiplatform release but is now only coming to the PS3. Maybe it'll be part of Sony's corporate restructuring...maybe they'll finally make the move to pay for timed third-party exclusives. Who knows? Either way, we'll certainly keep you up-to-date so stay tuned.

Which part of "new exclusive" is not getting through? We already know about MAG, it's been introduced and announced. This is something else.

i'm sorry but that is perfect reply

it could be mag

anyone remember the, we have 11 exclusives to reveal at TGS and it turned out only 1 or 2 were new all the rest we had been told of already

come on, its a dutch magazine, I'm wouldn't be surprised if they are behind on the exclusives

I'm from the UK and the OPM here always delivers news really late

Ps would love it to really be a new game, just don't get your hopes up :(

Its something from Team Ico. If you go to the Team Ico Magazine website, there is a cryptic message indicating something will be announced in Feb 2009. This OPM article vindicates the cryptic clue....

All I can say is that I really would not be happy morally with Sony starting to buy exclusives. I have thought it was wrong with Microsoft and I certainly can't condone Sony doing it.

There is nothing immoral about purchasing third party exclusives. It's not even unethical as long as it's being done in the open. It's the 'out in the open' part that's important.

Think of it this way:

Is it wrong for someone to commission an artist to paint a picture for them that they will get the exclusive display rights for? The artist still gets the credit for having done the work and gets the money, to boot.

Where it starts to get shady is when money is changing hands and no one mentions it. When it's all 'above board,' it might look desperate, but it certainly isn't immoral or unethical.

If it's by Team Ico I don't seen any reason to even ask about it's exclusivity. I'm about...100% sure Team Ico is owned by Sony, so...I'm sure they'll be Sony Exclusives.

Yup, if you got a ps3 with b/c, or a ps2, do yourself a favor and pickup a copy before all else. Get it used (returnable), as it does require a great deal of patience, so, it's not for everybody. But for those who have what it takes, it is one of the best games in vg history.

Everyone seems to forget about an article wrote by a BBC reporter. He revealed a mystery game by Sony which blew him away when Sony showed the trailer to him. This is what he said

"I was shown a trailer for a game not due out till 2009 but was sworn to absolute secrecy,"

"If the footage I was shown truly is "in game", as told to me by the Sony PR people, then we could be on the brink of a step change in what games consoles are capable of in terms of story-telling and immersion".

So maybe this could be the game Sony is going to reveal?

Anything from team ICO would be a killer announcement. They have remained quite low key for sometime now therefore I am almost certain that they are not only ready to make an announcement but the project is probably almost complete.

I'm absolutely positive that it's from Team ICO...they gave a hidden message that they were going to develop a game for the PS3 and announce it around February or the end of February. No doubt about it it's from Team ICO. If not then it's going to be something either really dumb...or something much better than what Team ICO will have to offer which is unlikely. We'll just have to wait and see.
