Killzone 2 PlayStation 3 Bundle Spotted

Heeeey, look at this!

European gamers, this one's for you: according to GOONL!NE, Sony is preparing to release this nifty Killzone 2 PlayStation 3 bundle for the launch of the hotly anticipated shooter. At this time, it seems to only be scheduled for Europe, as SCEA and SCEJ haven't yet announced anything. We don't have a price for the package, either, but we assume it's going to include the game, perhaps a special PS3 with a KZ2 emblem, and some other little collectible that'll make this an extraordinarily appealing bundle for those who don't yet own a PS3. The game has been confirmed to release on February 25 in Europe (February 27 in the UK), which means we still have plenty of time to see the press release from SCEA. We can't imagine Sony wouldn't want to make this package available to U.S. gamers, but Sony's constant policy is that they "don't announce anything until there's something to announce." Therefore, they may not issue any revealing for another few weeks yet, but we fully expect that announcement to pop up in our inbox at some point...

Even so, it's nice to give Euro gamers a little boost. Even if the package is coming to North America, at the very least, we can say our buddies across the pond won't miss out on the bundle. We really can't wait to see what they'll include in the box!

good start on marketing just put up some ads an it is sure to do well, i personally THINK that any game can be brought to fame with a fair amount of publicity (sry if i anger anybody who likes xbox) i mean just look at gears 2. again personal opinion not necessarily the truth plz forgive me if my comment makes u mad

I'm nearly finished the first run-through now.

I am loving every head-shot and MASSIVE Chimera coming at me.

Anyone else think certain parts are reminiscent of certain moments of 'I am Legend'? I'm just glad the DualShock is cordless... or else I would have pulled the PS3 off the desk several times!

I'm looking forward to going online and joining the Big Time.

Yeah so far its a wild ride, the graphics are sick with HDMI. After a couple hours I stuck my new bluetooth earpiece in and went online, it was pretty tight but damn there is a lot of people filling up those 60 player areas.

I think the best part of the game has to be coop, then competitive, then the single player. the only thing thats bad is the get 10000 kills trophy

I'll be interested to see KZ2's sales compared to Halo Wars it'll be coming out the day after KZ2. I asked at a gamestop and they said they had been getting more reservations for Halo Wars than KZ2.

Nah, I'm interested to see how the sales compare too. If an RTS outsells Killzone 2 simply because it has "Halo" in the name, that would be sad. But, I'm sure those who can't play KZ2 will have to pick up SOMETHING to make themselves feel better. I'm sure they'll rave about it too.

Whichever. Enjoy your Halo Wars, people. I'll be playing the best video game of this generation.

I find it funny thats only gamestop u went to. Some gamers going to be dissappointed to find out that halo wars isn't a first person shooter, my cousin was excited about halo wars until he seen it was a rts, and now he change his mind to over killzone2.

Eh...totally different genre. If 360 had some other shooter maybe it's an interesting comparison. Reservations don't really mean much anyway. Look at Too Human for 360 which had a large amount of reservations. That was MS's worst flop of this generation.

@ Spartan, like i said b4 m8 gamestop is 360 fanboy heaven who take the piss out of any ps3 owner who walks through the door, now i live in the uk & i feel the hostility from here so th@ might have something 2 do with it, also its 1 of very few exclusives the 360 has so u'll all probably jump on the wagon

Resistance 2 didn't get a bundle,did it?

Sony's promoting Killzone 2 real hard,i like that,i got tired of killing those chimeras anyway,a new breath of fresh aliens to massacre.

I must pick this up real quick since i skipped Resistance 2 and World at War.

It's a start. Now let me see some commercial. Advertise, Sony, Advertise? Is this not a basic part of business? I haven't seen any commercials. Haven't seen any banner ads on websites. And that's just the MOST basic stuff. I don't get it.

Well I almost got mine paid off so day 1 purchase for me and I dont usually do many day 1 purchases the last time I did it was for halo3 and that wasn't worth it, KZ2 is going to be epic

Cool. This was easy to predict...kind of a bummer it's not coming in the U.S - but personally I don't have a PS3 yet and I still want the MGS4 bundle really really really really really really really really really really really really BAD!!!!

The MGS4 bundle was just totally like a dream come true. I never thought it would happen - but turns out it did. I mean over the years with PS and PS2 I always saw 1st party exclusives bundled up with the console...not a 3rd PARTY EXCLUSIVE!!!!

Then there's Yakuza 3!!!!!!!! OH WOW the console looks cool. And it's white too!!!!!! But it's only in Japan =( - guess I have to import it...but then again I want a PS3 with backwards compatibility. I would go for a 60gb but...they're pretty rare. The 80gb with the MGS4 bundle had some backwards compatibility so I guess it's for me.

Look on the bright side Shadowpal, the new games are sweet but when you get your PS3 bundle there will be some great games that you don't have to pay full price for.

everyone ought to known that Sony has always suck at advertising there games! I just seen this slow-motion death/kills of Killzone 2 on gametrailers.com and that should be their commercal, it is just pure sweetness!

dveislive i agree with u, sony should advertise the hell out of this game. If they don't I will be knocking on there door,lol. Its funny how I went to gamestop today and preorder kz2 and some customers came in talking about kz2 will suck because the first one they say suck. So I ask the customers did they see the trailer to kz2 and the answer was no because it still will suck and they ask me did I play left 4 dead I kindly told them I played the demo but it wasn't my cup of tea one of customers said that Im a playstation fanboy . So the guys at gamestop was really cool they told us not to debate anymore or they will throw both of us out. The customers left I was glad they left idiots, the manager said that those guys harass playstation owners all the time.

This bundle will...I repeat...WILL but Sony over Microsoft in Europe. M$ has a million unit over Sony right now. This bundle will close that gap by March and Sony will have the comfortable led by May.

At this point, I don't even care if KZ2 doesn't sell a lot of copies. It would be their own fault. As long as I get my fault, and there are enough people online to find a few good matches, I'll be a happy camper. I don't need it to sell a gazillion copies to prove to XBoxers that it's good. And the PS3 owners that sleep on it...screw 'em.

Karneli III u know what a while back a designer at guerrilla games mention on the official playstation forums a gamer told the designer that he heard a rumor that sony invest $50 million dollars on production for kz2, and the designer respond and said $50 million dollars don't even come close to amount that sony spend. So my point is that sony have to advertise this game or all that money being spend will be for nothing. Sony is really trying to make a come back against microsoft. Its funny how microsoft bring some content february halo wars demo comes out just the same day as kz2 gamestop version demo, and now star ocean 4 this will be very interesting february I will say in the history of gaming.
