Rumor: Fallout 3 Patch Causing Freezing, Save Data Issues
If we understand the concept of a patch correctly, it's supposed to fix things, correct? And while the new Fallout 3 patch is certainly designed to do just that, it may come with a nasty side-effect for some gamers...
According to The Gaming Vault, the current rumor is that the Fallout 3 1.10 patch, while it does fix certain bugs and glitches, may also mess with your save data. Some people have apparently reported missing items in their inventory (and that includes crucial items required to advance the plot of the game), and PS3 owners are claiming the game is now more prone to freezing after loading particular areas. Other saving issues may pop up as well and it may affect old save files, although nobody can confirm if this is a widespread issue. The most common problems apparently center on freezing, and if you think you've got a screwy patch, the only way to fix it is to delete the patch from the "Game Data Utility." Then just start the game without installing the patch and you should be good to go. We hope this hasn't hit any of you, and if it's a larger than expected problem, we have to assume the developers will issue another patch that won't nail your save data.
For the most part, patches and updates don't cause problems with games; we've seen some e-mails from concerned readers, asking if they should ever risk downloading them. Well, sometimes you need them and many times, they really help. You just have to take the bad with the good and fortunately, there's a whole lot more good than bad these days.

If I had to bet, however, expect this exlusive DLC content on the PS3 at some point, probably on retail disk at first.
I'm also betting the PS3 gets the GTA: Lost & The Damned DLC on a retail disk at some point too. Can you say loophole?

Both of our PS3s run double aftermarket fans and are cleaned regularly. the BC-80gb has had some issues with controllers dropping connection randomly, but since last firmware update have been able to reconnect without rebooting the PS3. That is a system issue that occurs in almost all games for me, not just Fallout.
