Resident Evil 5 Demo Headed To PSN On February 5
We've been hearing a lot about the upcoming playable demo for Resident Evil 5, but it didn't arrive late last year as we had assumed. Instead, it seems we'll get it in the first week of February.
According to PS3Fanboy, the demo will hit the PlayStation Store on February 5, and boast two different levels and three separate types of cooperative-based gameplay. You can choose between AI support, two-player split-screen on one PS3 and a two-player mode via the PlayStation Network. Now, here's the best part: say you were a huge fan of RE4 (and really, who wasn't?), and you're not so keen on the idea of the more action-oriented control scheme Capcom implemented in RE5. Well, this demo will give you the choice of the RE4 controls or the new "Action" controls, so at the very least, you can do a little comparin' and contrastin'. The "Action" setup should make the game feel more like a next-gen third-person shooter; perhaps something along the lines of MGS4 or Gears of War 2. However, survival/horror purists may want to stick with what they had in RE4, even though that control scheme represented a significant change over the old-fashioned "up is forward" controls in old RE titles. But hey, you can't satisfy everyone all the time, and we remain 100% convinced that Capcom will deliver a kick-ass gem come March.
So mark your calendars for February 5, as that's the day you'll want to log on to the Network and download this guaranteed-to-be-popular demo. It's your first taste of the final product, and you gotta love sweet little interactive teasers.

Trying to play WaW with a friend was an exercise in frustration (even with a 32'' hdtv), and seems it might be the same with RE5 unless you have a TV 40'' or up.

I'm assuming, however, that you have to be a Gold subscriber to get the demo earlier. Anyone know for sure?

@Dragon: M$ is still getting to release it early, the fact that it is for the Gold members just means they are using it as a tool to get more signups, ya gotta keep an eye open for those exploitations to understand how M$ works.

running around one end to get half of a key, then running to a completely different spot that i never would have thought of, to get the other half, by somehow completing a puzzle that if i fail, will get me killed.
