Get All Surreal With Flower Next Month
You know, we're sick and tired of hearing the tired and played-out, "oh, there's no originality this generation" complaint. Not only do big-name titles like LittleBigPlanet and Mirror's Edge put a crimp in that argument, but many unique titles on the PSN completely disprove it.
We've already had great original stuff like flOw and echochrome, and next month, prepare yourselves for the creative and very intriguing Flower. Just announced over at the official PlayStation blog, this "video game version of a poem" ought to pique the interest of all gamers who enjoy ambition and innovation in the realm of game development. In Flower, players gather flower petals as the screen switches "between the pastoral and the chaotic." We've been searching for a better explanation of the game, and while an exact description may be impossible, certain members of thatgamecompany have given it a shot. Their quotes - along with a video - are over at the blog, but here's our favorite-
"Flower, shower, power tower, First class, string bass, grass en masse, Sun, fun, nearly done, Petal, metal, lightning gun?"
Perfect. We have no idea what it means, but considering the game, we have to assume it's perfect. We'll try to get our hands on this one ASAP, just 'cuz we appreciate the effort involved in producing such an interesting downloadable title. And as far as we're concerned, thatgamecompany can just keep doing what they're doing; it just gives us more reasons to log on to the PSN.
