Advent Children Blu-Ray Release And FFXIII Demo Delayed

Update: Only the movie gets the English voiceovers; the demo does NOT.  Sorry for the confusion.

Original Story:

Sometimes, clarifications are absolutely necessary, especially for hardcore fans.

When the news broke yesterday that a very cool Advent Children PS3 package would release in Japan on April 16, the inevitable question followed: "does this mean the Blu-Ray release and Final Fantasy XIII demo has been delayed?" See, Square-Enix announced at their private DKS3713 event last year that the Blu-Ray release of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" would launch in March, which meant the Japanese public would also get the demo at the same time (the demo comes packaged with the movie). However, if this was still true, why wait to release that special Advent Children PS3 bundle? Well, they're not; as it turns out, the movie and demo have indeed been delayed until April 16. So if you were considering an import purchase, bear in mind that it won't be available for sale until April, which is about one month behind schedule. We've heard the demo won't be coming to North America with the movie, which means you will have to import if you wish to play a portion of the hotly anticipated RPG. The good news is that it will include both Japanese and English voiceovers, so there's some extra incentive...

Anyway, we figured you'd just want to know the score. We know some of our readers are planning to import this stuff, and we didn't want you to be confused.

I wonder if the bundle was created because SE knew they couldn't get a demo out before the end of March...
I dont like to be a pessimist all the time but I dont trust SE.

I just reserved the Advent Children Complete Blu-ray from Play-asia.com so on the 16th I will be playing FF13. Mwahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ben are you sure on the voiceovers?

I have heard about the MOVIE having English voiceovers, but not the DEMO... Any clarity would help decide on a purchase...

There is no way the demo has English voiceovers. They haven't even cast the English voice actors for FFXIII yet.

AC was pretty darn good as a fan pleaser. Not everyone quite "got" Spirits Within, and I understand that, but still I think if FF wanted to branch out and make original movies they could do pretty well as long as they stuck to the old formula. I seriously dread the day someone tries to make FF into a live-action feature film.

The demo will not have english voice overs guys, the Advent Children movie however will. I dont care, I just know I want to be playing FF13 before next year, and if the only way to do it is to play through the demo in a language I dont know, then so be it. I will learn real quick. I just want to see how gorgeous it's going to look in HD.

Thought so. That really sucks. Tbh even if there were English dubs, everything else would be Japanese, including dialog boxes without voiceovers. Theres no avoiding the long wait.

Besides that, i want to see the scene where Sephiroth lifts impaled cloud in the air with his blade.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?! ENGLISH VOICEOVERS!!!!!!!?!?!?! I love the Japanese language - except I can barely understand it and am trying to learn it the best I can. BUT ZOMG!!!!!!! I AM BUYING THIS - YES I AM!!!!! IMPORT ALL THE WAY!!!!!!! I WANT THAT!!!!! YES I DO!!!!!!

And since it's a Japanese PS3 - that means it can play actual Japanese games!!!!! Uh-oh...but does that mean it won't be able to play games I buy here?? If anyone who has a PS3 can answer this...THANK YOU. Either way I would love to get this. It would've been a lot better though if it had backwards compatibility but oh well...

Oh...I looked through the comments and just realized that FFXIII demo won't have voiceovers.......but you know...I still want to import it for some reason. Or should I stick with...try and find an MGS 4 bundle???

PS3 games are region-free. Though I have no clue if the XMB is in pictographs.
